Hilton on Harbor - where is it?

OK. So, I haven't been to DL in 25 years; however, I've done a ton of research on this board and elsewhere. The other day, my friend (who lives 5 miles from DL) and her BF (who grew up in Garden Grove) were in town. He asked if we were staying in a 'nice' hotel. I told him I thought we were staying in an OK hotel, but that none of the hotels (that aren't onsite) in walking distance really qualify as 'nice'; they're usually just OK. Then I said that ours is right across the street.

He then said that there is a Hilton (and a Sheraton, I believe) 'right across the street' from Disneyland on Harbor. I reiterated that ours really was right across the street (not down Harbor a bit) and he insisted that the Hilton was right across the street. I then dropped it b/c there was no point in arguing with a local about someplace I haven't been...

However, I thought the Hilton was like a mile south on Harbor - am I missing something?

I wouldn't call those "nice" hotels right across the street at all. I would also question calling them walking distance. That's a big factor to weigh. Why surely you can walk from either of those hotels, once you walk it, the shuttles start to become more important.

Thanks! I was pretty sure I was right about the distance. I would think a local would know these things, but then again - when has he ever had to stay at a hotel there since he's always lived so close, right? I just hope my sister's BF didn't take his comments too seriously (as I'm the one who is doing all the planning, including choosing the hotel). Even if he did, I'm sure he'll notice the lack of a Hilton anywhere near the entrance once we get there.

I think what he's talking about is the Sheraton Park and Hilton which are right next to each other but Sheraton Park is on Harbor and Hilton crosses it on convention way and you are right...its NOT right across the street...its way far down...I guess if you wanted to walk it you could but sheesh thats too far after walking all day in the park lol and that Hilton is a very nice hotel but if you want nice hotel and cheap and are willing to stay that far down then I would stay right across the street there at the Red Lion Inn...they remodeled and its really really nice and you can get it as low as $39 a night at some times of the year I think just because of where the location is:confused3
