How hot and buggy is HH in July? Can a 7 yr. old ride a bike to the beach?

We were there in July 2003 and it was HOT and HUMID, but still great. A 7 year old should be able to ride the distance to the beach house, but never would I have a 7 year old do it alone (not that you were considering that). It's about 1 mile or so each direction and pretty level.

We've been going in July for a number of years now and have never had any trouble with bugs. It will be hot and humid though.

I agree about the bike ride to the beach - a 7 year old should have no problem. There is a bike/jogging path along the road, so it is a relatively safe trip- but I'd make sure an adult was along for the ride.

There is a bike path that leads from the resort area under the busy highway to the bike path to the beach. You should take that (when biking or walking)rather than trying to cross the highway itself- it is a verrrry busy roadway.

We've been there the last two years in early August, and it is not too bad.. (Not any worse that Florida anyways.. )

I agree though.. Watch the main road.. It's busy..
