Yes, the waitlist was for a 2-BR. This will be our first trip to the island. As we get closer, I'll seek some advice from this board for things to do. We are really looking forward to it.

Can I ask how long were you on the wait list? How many nights did you want? Is it unbearably hot in July? Does it rain a lot? We would like a 1 bed for last week of June and 1st week in July....how likely?!!

We'll be there July 5 through 9. We were on multiple waitlists from the start of July through the first week of August. It was probably a little over a month on the waitlists. Initially, there was no availability. Then, we picked up 2 nights in August. Then 3 nights came up in July and we added a fourth night from cash inventory. We had decided that we would stay for 4 or 5 nights but no less. We've never been to HHI before, but I hear that the summers are very hot. Rain is common, but it usually does not last long.
