Hilton Head Selling Out?

Thanks to this board. I have learned so much about how DVC works and have since bought points to be a member. I just called my guide this afternoon to do an add-on for 60 points for the December use year and was told that they are not currently available.

Based on all the DVC veteran's experience, what is my chance of getting these 60 points add-on before 6/30 (before the point price goes to $80)?

Did you put your name on a wait list for the HH December use year? If you didn't, you should right away... I still think you've got a good shot at it, it's not been sold out all that long, so some contracts will come back for whatever reason....

I am not sure my name is on the waitlist. My guide said that he has to check with DVC and keep me posted. He said that there are only odds and ends points at various buildings. But DVC cannot sell them like that. I guess maybe even though it is still a point system, but the underlying has to be some kind of unit ownership for legal purposes.

I just could not believe that it was selling out already. Otherwise, I would have told my guide earlier that i want an add-on.

Hi Luckytso,

We recently added on points at HH, to a sold out August use year. We were on a waitlist for about a month when our guide called to tell us that two contracts just became available. We bought one of them at $65.00 with the MB discount. Don't be discouraged, we were ready to give up and add on at a different resort when we got the call. Good luck and make sure your guide has you on a waitlist.

FYI - the price increase is June 2.

Thanks for the advice. I will check with my guide tomorrow and see if my name is on the waiting list. Also, I know DebbieB is right in that the price increase is effective 6/2. However, I remember a conversation with my guide that I can close, the lastest, end of June, for HH to pay the lowest pro-rated maintenenace fees. I have to confirm that with him though (if I get the points in time). Thanks again.
