Hilton Head restaurants and other questions

We skipped our annual Hilton Head vacation last year and we are REALLY looking forward to going this June--problem is I forgot which restaurants we liked, LOL, so I need some ideas.
Keep in mind we are not big seafood eaters, shrimp, lobster and scallops are about it.
We also have 2 kids(6 and 8) who are good, but not THAT good , so no elegant restaurants.
Give me your recommendations, please(lunch and breakfast recs welcome as well).

There's such a lack of information out there about HH and even though I know everything I like to immerse myself in planning before going, just for the fun of it-anyone have any web sites?

Two more things: price of bike rentals and does anyone have a copy of an activity list from last June or thereabouts they can PM me?

we really like Little Venice and Scotts right next door at the marina

Little Venice is nice since its sort of nice but also has the outdoor seating

same with Scotts, its probably a little more casual and sometimes has some music playing for the outside guests


the Old Oyster Factory, is always very good...although alot of seafood choices, but if you like some seafood it might be a good option

Tony Romas--always go here once--love ribs

Wild Wings--love our wings too, this always gets a visit for some take out

Stacks is good for breakfast. its that typical breakfast place everyone has in their home town

Thanks, I love eating outside-I do remember we went to Wild Wings and Scott's last time-actually we went to Scott's without the kids since they were at Kids Night Out, maybe this time we'll do Little Venice.

I'll definitely try Stack's, breakfast out is my favorite meal.

We went to San Miguels last year when kids were at KNO and it was good. We also hit Little Venice once before and thought it was just okay...

Top on the list is Wild Wing, although its always a train wreck when we go, but they love the wings! We had better luck with the one in Bluffton then the other one.

Im thinking we may try Old Oyster Factory this time!

Glad to hear that about San Miguel's I looooove Mexican food. Is that the one in Shelter Cove?

I recommend Signe's. Although they're best known as a bakery, they do have sandwiches, entree size salads, and stuffed, baked potatoes. If your family likes Greek food, there's "It's Greek to Me" near Wexford.

I would second the Old Oyster Factory. I would also recommend the Crazy Crab (the one on the north end of the island; not the one in Sea Pines), Marley's which is just on the left side of the entrance to Sea Pines, and the Salty Dog at the south beach area of Sea Pines. Mellow Mushroom is good, carry out or eat in.

You might consider spending some time in the Sea Pines plantation. There's a forest preserve there, horse back rides, the south beach marina I mentioned, and the Harbour Town area with shops, an additional marina, and restaurants.

old oyster factory, hands down. harold's diner right on 278 near the resort is great for breakfast or a lunch burger!!!

We always go to Sea Pines, gotta climb that lighthouse.
We've been to Salty Dog-had one great meal, one not so great, haven't heard of Marley's-I'll check it out.

ETA: I just checked out Marley's menu on line and that looks gooooood!

Tony Roma's has closed I think. We ate there a couple of years ago and thought it strange that it was just about empty of customers. Back in Sept. it looked like they were putting some other restaurant at that location (it might have been some form of Asian, I can't remember).

This is just down the road from the resort. Food is great and being from Jersey you have to like the diner. Bayonne Nj here!

I love diners-nothing better than a cheesburger deluxe and fries with cheese and gravy.

There are many great places, some have been named. I'll just point out a fewthat may not make others lists. One is a pizza/pasta bistro in the strip mall with the Movie Theaters on the left as you go toward the Sea pines main gate I forget the name, something like Brick Oven but can't recall for certain. It was great, a little upscale and pricey for pizza but not bad overall. The Boathouse II is really very nice, esp for lunch and fairly inexpensive. If you know the Old Oyster factory think slightly better food, cheaper and not quite as stuffy. Mostly seafood but have great shrimp and very reasonable, you turn left soon after you get on to the island. The third is called Sunsest Grill. It's in a campground in the same area as Boathouse and doesn't advertise. That latter has been the top rec. from several HH savvy people I've talked to over the years including one who spends several months a year at HH. The other one I've mentioned may have closed from what I heard but we had one of our best meals there ever, it was Hemingways and in the Marina at the base of the toll road.

They have a place called Tide Me Over at the resort, by the pool. It's just carry out, with picnic tables set up.. I think I have a picture:

they serve breakfast and lunch and very early dinners. LOL

Shelter Cove is a short walk and has a few restaurants, a deli.
There's a Fuddruckers and an Italian restaurant/pizza place type called Guiseppes within bike riding distance.

We're bringing the kids bikes, but am not sure about our own, if I could find out how much it was to rent, I may just rent there.

Big Bamboo Cafe--sounded neat in the brochure! Looking inside, it was about the side of a shoebox and had over a 2 hour wait! NOT! Could be wrong, but didn't seem worth that kind of a wait--especially with 7 hungry kids (not all mine --3 families!)

We really liked San Miguel's--yes it is in Shelter Cove, we ate outside and on the weekend they had live entertainment!

How about Marley's???? It was DH's ABSOLUTE favorite place--he had seafood, but everyone seemed to enjoy it. Their pina coladas come in a half coconut--how cool is that?
