We are heading to Disney's Hilton Head resort in November and I wanted to see if anyone else has been there and what your thoughts on it was.

Thanks!

We just got back and I wish all my points were there! It is our favorite place so relaxing!

When in November? We're going in November, also, for our 6th Thanksgiving there. This will be our 10th trip there overall, so that gives some idea how much we love it!

We went in August and it was amazing....sigh....it was such a weird (yet wonderful) feeling to come back from vacation totally and utterly relaxed. We've done WDW 4 years in a row so this was just what the doctor ordered. I LOVE WDW, but never came back feeling relaxed.

We requested a marsh view on the top level. What a beautiful view.

There's lots and lots to do however we chose to just chill but the pool and beach. I'm sure others can chime in on the activities. We made the tie-dye shirts, listened to ghost stories, and went to the pool parties. We hope to go back in a few years.

ENJOY!!!

We LOVE HHI so much we are actually looking to add on there to get the 11 month booking window.

We've been for spring break and love it! It's very peaceful and low-key Disney resort. If you have younger kids they will love the campfire and craft activities.

We're planning a stay for next April and can't wait!

We're going for the first time the last week of October. Any suggestions for activities and restaurants will be appreciated. DW is really looking forward to a no schedule trip.....me, I'm lost not having to make ADR's, look at crowd levels and schedule special events! :rotfl2:

Our family LOVES it there, especially during the off-season. It is so peaceful and relaxing... a true getaway. We've stayed all over the resort, but are very partial to the marsh view rooms. There are tons of activities for kids, so be sure to check out the daily activities sheet when you check it. My boys never miss a campfire or a chance to meet "Shadow", the resident dog. The tours are a lot of fun as well (some of them are even FREE) :)

As far as dining recommendations go, our family loves the Crazy Crab. They have great food and a fun little playground for the kids. The Salty Dog Cafe is a HHI staple and serves up some great food as well. It is only open seasonally though.

Have a great time!!!

I don't know what season the Salty Dog Cafe is closed, but we eat there Thanksgiving week every year.

we only bought DVC this year and had never planned to go to HHI but, we had some points that were going to expire this spring so we stayed for 2 nights and loved it....we want to add on there:thumbsup2

We love HH. We've mostly been in October during our fall break and are counting down the days until we are there (15 and counting). The weather has always been just perfect when we were there. Some years the no-see-ums have been particularly annoying, but we're hopeful that they won't be this year. It is a relaxing trip and a different kind of Disney experience. My kids love WDW, but really prefer HH. This year we went on a cruise (non-Disney) and at the end, my DS15 said, "I'd rather have gone to Hilton Head". I think the only complaints that frequently show up on this board about HH are wishing the resort was directly on the beach and the lack of a Table Service restaurant on the property. Neither of these are a problem for us. Hope you enjoy your trip.

I'm going Sunday for the first time! Had to cancel out my VWL trip and so we're soing Hilton Head instead. Such a last minute switch that we're staying in 3 rooms in 6 nights! I'll let you know which ones we like the best. Our group will stay in a 2 BR two nights and the other nights will be in 2 studios per night - not sure if they'll be together or spread out. We're packing light for the ease of moving!!!

Oops - now we are in a 2 BR for 3 nights and studios for 3 nights. This trip should be interesting. If we had not been able to move our points, we would have lost them and we had not budgeted for a non-DVC reservation so we would have just been sitting at home.

So tomorrow we will be off on our first DVC vacation and it should be an adventure!

On one trip there, we had to move multiple times, and the front desk was so helpful. Although the 2 BRs are well scattered throughout the resort, almost all the studios are in the Main Lodge, so it should be an interesting change. But fun!

Love, Love HHI!!! We also had to add-on there to get home resort advantage for summer. Enjoy your trip!!

Be there for a week in a few weeks. We love Disney HHI. We're only 40 something miles from the resort (only about 10 by air), and love popping in when we can. They have Mickey Premiums in the gift shop!

The Low Country is the Best Country!

Wow, thanks for all of the feedback! We will be there the week of Thanksgiving but we are only staying a few days. It sounds like that there will be plenty to do for my 3 year old daughter. I am glad to hear that it is relaxing because I ready for a nice break.
