Hilton Head in June..........help needed!

Hi guys! Are hoping to plan a trip to Hilton Head for June 2010.......what are our chances at 7 mnths, looking for a 1 or 2 bed for about 10 nights. What is the weather like that time of year? And the crowds?

You have a better chance in very early June because most schools aren't out yet. I've tried twice for July (peak) and to date HH is the only resort that I haven't been succesful booking at the 7 month mark! Hope lives eternal and I will try again for 2011.

Thanks! We are looking at the second and third weeks of June...................just to give you hope, we got July (1 week) in a 1 bed at the 7 mnth window a few years ago, so it can be done! The resort was full, but it was our first trip to HH and we loved it!

I knew it would probably never happen again, so we added on points when we got home. There are only 21 1-BRs. You will have a better chance of getting one of the 76 dedicated 2-BRs. Just make sure you call as soon as MS opens exactly 7 months out. That's what I did. I even set my alarm early on a Saturday morning!!! As far as the weather, I'm not sure about June, but July was gorgeous. Of course, when I go to the beach, I want warm weather. Good luck getting what you want!

I will be calling for Vero or HHI for July or August but also know my chances are slim to none, although I would take 2-1 bedrooms or 1 - 2 bedrooms or anything larger. MS opens at 9 am is that correct?
Also, is there a trick to make the call go quicker, like knowing all the buttons to press when calling at 7 am for hard to get dining?
If I call MS and then press 2 and then I always have to hear a long message before it goes through, is there something to speed up the procees? Thanks.

I can't speak for June, but I just booked the week of May 23rd in a one bedroom with no problems.

We are currently trying to work out whether it will be June or the first 2 weeks of September................how hard is it to get sept? We would be happy with a 1 or 2 bed! Would they still have kids activities and pool games at that time of year?

the first 2 weeks in June are easier as is a 2bdroom( more of them). We added on in 2002 at HHI just for the 11 month June/July timing. We have been lucky to get July at 7 months once, but you really need to be flexible for that. We will be there June 8-12 this year...Last year we went early June( we have been late June, July and early august before) and it was terrific! Beautiful weather(warm low humididy) lowere crowds and still had tuesday night fireworks from shelter cove..good luck!

I always book 2BR's, my entourage is generally between 4-7 people. I've twice tried to book around the 3 week of July, unsuccessfully! Early June we go to Disney for the week, so I wanted to break up July since we generally go back to school around Aug 15th!

We went the first week of June this summer and the weather was great. It wasn't too hot yet, but definitely warm enough to enjoy the pool and ocean. We love going to HH again next summer and are hoping to add one more night at the 7 month window with our BCV points.

The second week of June, 6-13th is far more likely than the next week. It is a possibility though, amazingly HH has actually been easier for summer the last few years than previously from what I can see. A 2 BR is far more likely than the studio or 1 BR simply due to numbers but it never hurts to try. You might also consider a direct exchange with a Marriott Owner at one of their nicer resorts for one week of the time or an exchange to one of the better RCI resorts for the entire 10 nights there for around the same or less points. That's especially true if looking at 2 weekends within those 10 days. IF you decide on booking DVC, make sure you're on the phone when they open for your day 1 to make the first 7 days of your trip. IF you have enough points, you might want to book both unit sizes initially until you see what's ultimately available.

There are currently 6 resorts available for 7 nights in mid to late June. Of those 6, 4 resorts have availability for a 2 or 3 BR for a full 10 nights during the same time frame. Of those, one resort has a 5 BR unit as well.
