Hilton Head-elevators?

We are taking our 90 yr old grandma to HH this Easter. After looking at the pictures of the resort I began to wonder, are there elevators in the buildings if we are assigned an upper floor villa or just the outside staircases I see in the photos? If there are no elevators, do you think I should call the resort and try to request a lower floor? Thanks

There is an elevator in the Lodge, but none in the individual villas. If you are on the first floor you will still have to walk up one flight of stairs (and carry all your luggage) - if you are upstairs you have more stairs to climb!!!!

If you really need the eleveator I'd call and ask to be put in the Lodge.

There is an elevator in the main building only. I would make your situation known so that you get what you need.

I believe there is only one elevator, and that is in the registration building. Good views from it, and easy access to parking below the building. Just request a unit in that building. All others have stairs. I think even the bottom floor units have 4-5 steps before you enter the room.

One thing we noticed about the elevator is the lights.
They seemed to stay on all the time and if you used the elevator after it had not been used for some time it was very warm inside

As noted, there are no ground level units at HH - although the first floor villas have only a few stairs to get into the door. The elevator provides access to Buildings 11 and 12 and there are only lockoff 2BR villas there, including HCA villas. None of the dedicated 2BRs or GVs have elevator access.

There are 16 lockoff 2BRs there so if access is a concern for your party, be sure to let MS know that when you make the reservation.
