Hilton Head during Verizon Heritage Golf Tournament

I was wondering if anyone has tried getting any type of rooms during the week of this tournament? We are thinking ahead for 2010.

Methinks you're gonna wanna book that at the 22 month window.

Obviously just kidding but my bet would be that a lot of HH owners own there for just that reason (The Verizon) so it's likely a tough ticket. I'd certainly want to be on the phone EARLY at 7 months if I didn't own there if I hoped to get anything at all. Remember CRO's gonna come into play big-time that week too.

I don't know how busy the resort is, but from people we've talked to there, the island is PACKED! So even if you could get into the resort, good luck trying to get around or get seated at a resturant. DH is a big golfer, and I always wondered why he didn't want to go there then, but after hearing the stories, I count my blessings!

We are also interested in going during the golf tournament but have to wait until DD goes off to college in 3 years. We always arrive at HH on the last day of play but have not experienced any hold over crowding outside of the resort. I wonder how difficult it is to get tickets.

It's not impossible to get tickets (unlike the Masters where you have to enter the lottery). They offer an early bird special in the fall for purchasing, which is great if you are definitely planning to go.
