Just booked a two bedroom at HH for Thanksgiving. Does anyon eknow where to eat Dinner on thanksgiving? Thi s will be our first trip to HH so we're not too familiar with the area. Thanks!

We will also be at HH for Thanksgiving. The resort will offer a Thanksgiving dinner as they do for Easter. As I understand it, the choice will be a roasted turkey or a deep fried turkey; either with all the traditional sides. Specific information will be mailed as the holiday approaches.

I'm sure others who read your post can provide additional details.

Hi Everyone,

We are also staying at HH for Thanksgiving in a 2 bdrm Villa. We will be going to my sons home in Augusta, Ga. for Thanksgiving dinner. We stay until Saturday and then back home for work.

Hope meet everyone there over the holiday weekend.

I haven't been there for Thanksgiving, but I would think the grocery stores would do a "take-out" like they do most places, if you would be interested in eating at "home". We did this one year at OKW for Thanksgiving and it was much easier than going out. The whole dinner (turkey, dressing, etc. and several sides and dessert (pie)) was $45, plus we had the leftovers that my husband loves.

We've been to HH for Thanksgiving four times; this year will be our fifth.

The resort does have turkey dinners -- either roast or deep-fried -- with all the trimmings. As I understand it, they are quite generous with the portion sizes!

I have always done a semi-homemade turkey dinner -- small turkey, Stovetop Stuffing, etc. and we've always enjoyed it. Although I have to admit, the aroma of those turkeys deep frying is unbelievable!

Around the first of November, you will get more information in the mail from the resort -- the menus and some of the activities that will be scheduled. Be sure you don't miss the Turkey Bowl (touch football game) on the beach on Thanksgiving morning!!!

BTW, the local grocery stores (Publix and Harris Teeter, I'm sure of, but probably the others as well) do offer take out dinners as well. I think some of the major hotels on the island have Thanksgiving dinners or buffets as well.

Thanksgiving at the Hilton Head resort can be VERY addicting...

Thanks for all the info 1 HHI sounds like a wonderful place to be for Thanksgiving. WE're driving down on Saturday the 22nd. MY DS is taking the bus from college in FLa. and meeting us there. MY DH< DS(14), DD(12) are also going. We are meeting other family members ,too. Now we're getting ready for JUly 5 western Disney cruise Can't wait!

Ok, now I have something else to plan-right after we have our Vero Beach Easter!!

Sounds great-and a shorter drive, but what is the weather. Last Thanksgiving we were on the road on the way to WDW. We had Turkey sandwiches and played a little football (w/ a DVC mini-football) at a picnic area in route, in North Carolina. It was a little brisk for the beach I know that.

We have been there for Thanksgiving when the temperatures have been in the 80s and we were able to go to the beach.

And then there was 2002, when it barely got out of the 40s! (Although it was nice and sunny most of the time.)

I guess I'm trying to say to expect just about anything, but you will be guaranteed a GREAT Thanksgiving! ;)

Disneyaholic I just sent you a private message with some additional Thanksgiving questions.

Just wanted you to know to look for it! Thanks!

Just remember that for the grocery store options, these must usually be ordered several days in advance. If you're planning this route, I'd call the one your thinking about. I know locally Publix usually does this.

We were there last Thanksgiving and we took everything with us to cook our own dinner in our 1BR (we drove) -- we took the turkey out of the freezer Tuesday a.m. and put it in the cooler to keep everything else cold that we were taking with us -- I took frozen biscuit dough, stove top stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potato mix (pre-measured in a ziplock with the recipe on the outside of the bag), sweet potatoes, baggie of brown sugar, a pound of butter, frozen green beans, etc. By Thursday a.m. the turkey was defrosted and I put it in a cooking bag in the huge disposable roasting pan that I brought and put it in the oven before we headed to the beach for turkey bowl -- our villa smelled incredible when we walked in later. We spent the day at the beach and then just wandering around the resort while "tom" baked!
I have a COMPREHENSIVE packing list for Thanksgiving at Hilton Head, and will be glad to share it. I was so glad we had lots of foil, disposable containers, and saran wrap because the leftovers were wonderful all through the weekend and for turkey sandwiches on the 12+ hour drive home!

We loved it there sooooo much at Thanksgiving that we are going back. Incredibly, I called last week to put us on the waitlist for a villa and they had a 2BR available for the entire time!!! We feel so blessed! And with a 2BR we have the flexibility of letting the kids each take a friend or inviting another couple we love to vacation with, and their kids. See you there!!!:D :Pinkbounc
