I just booked a two bedroom at HH for November 5-12.

This will be our first time there. Is there anything in particular that I should request for our two bedroom, like location, building, etc?

The resort isn't that big but to me there are a lot of choices. What type of view do you like?

We've stayed in one room which had a view of a little wooded area. It was great because that year my DS was into bird watching and didn't have to go far. We even saw a little snake down there (good thing I was on the balcony ;) ).

Another trip we stayed in a room with a view of the marsh but because of the trees, we didn't see any of the marsh.

Another trip we stayed in a room with a view of the path. It was quiet but also nice because my DS was younger. I was able to stay on the balcony and let him ride his bike around on the path by "himself". I had a great view of what he was up to without him knowing I was watching.

Our favorite view was last summer. We stayed in Building 31 (I think) and they had just recently cut the trees down. We had an unobstructed view of Broad Creek. We spent many hours sitting on the balcony watching boats and some dolphins swim by. It was awesome. :teeth:

There are also pool views available. I'm personally hoping to avoid these until both of my kids are old enough to be in the pool by themselves. Right now, I'm sure with a room like that we'd get tired of hearing "let's go swimming".

Have a wonderful trip.

It would depend on what you are looking for. Our 2BR last year was close to the pool, had a marsh view, and was right next to the playground. If you have kids that might use the playground, this was the perfect location for you to keep an eye on them from the patio/deck.

Thanks - the reason I was asking is because I don't know what the options are, never having been there. Didn't know if there was a view of the water (not pool), etc

From what I am reading my options on views will be

Pool
playground area
woods
Marsh
Path ?

Your other option is to stay in the Lodge. These are 2-bedroom lock-off(Can be converted to studio & one bedroom). I enjoyed these because you park under the lodge and take the elevator to your room. If you get one of the back rooms you have a nice view of the channel/marsh.

They are the furthest from the pool but they do have Big Murgies Den with pool table and tv.

All other rooms require you to climb at least one flight of steps and use a roll cart to get your lugage to your building which is usually not a big deal.

I was not crazy about the rooms next to the Marina.

We stayed here and enjoyed the proximity to Big Murggie's, which we used every night. The parking is under the building. The view (studio) was of the waterway/canal and across to other condo developments. We could also see a bit of the river to the left.

We're not requesting it this next time. We requested NS and marsh view and we'll see what it's like.

Can't wait!

Here is description of the <a href="http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=226883">HH Resort layout.</a>

There are 3 basic views you can request- Marsh View - with a view of Broad Creek which is a tidal area with lots of wildlife to watch, Island View - where the balconies look out towards the interior wooded areas of the resort and Pool view- where the balconies sit out over the pool area. I wouldn't get too specific about playgrounds or other details like that. It's a compact resort and you are not far from anything regardless where your building may be located.

Most of the villas in the lodge are reserved as Studios and 1BR villas.(There are 16 lock-offs in buildings 11/12 (Lodge). There are 5 other lock-offs located under the GV's. The views from the lodge are Marsh and Island- but even the island views will have a look towards the Marsh.

Enjoy the resort - it's a great vacation spot! :)

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am not going to make many requests except for non smoking and maybe a view. The info here was very helpful in getting me acquainted with what my options are
