Good morning! Does anyone know which buildings at Hilton Head have the 1 bedroom units? Suggestions for a request for a 1 bedroom? I haven't been able to determine on Google which buildings are the 1 bedroom units:-(

There are a total of 21 1 BRs. Sixteen of them are either in the Main lodge or the attached building 12. The other five are on the first floors of buildings 16, 18, 19, 28, and 30. We've stayed in many 1 BRs at HHI, and we now always request the top floor of the main lodge. For one thing, many years ago, Big Murgie's Den was one of the few places to get free wi-fi, so often, I would go downstairs after dinner, settle into the couch with some warm apple cider and the Island Packet newspaper, then use the internet. Now spending time down there in the evening, reading the paper, is still enjoyable. We really loved the views from building 18, but as I said, in the outer buildings you're on the first floor and subject to footsteps from above, another reason why we always ask for the main lodge.

Wow, never realized that there was such a small number. When we travel we need a 2Br when our older kids join us..Guess 2Br dedicated easier to get then? Thanks1

We've had 2 trips to DHHIR and the first was in a 1BR. It was in the main lodge. It is far from the pool, but close to the bridge over to the marina (for dining and shops) and the bus stop for the shuttle over to the beach house. The 2nd trip there, in a 2BR this past AUg, I requested to be near the pool. I thought that might be a better location. But our balcony was right by the pool slide and we heard pool noise from 8am to 10pm every day...so no naps and DH had trouble one day he had to work. Plus, folks drive down to park there (folks staying near the main lodge) and take up the limited parking spots in front of the building. When we were in the main lodge we walked to the pool...never thought to drive down and park there. There is a nice boardwalk that leads to the pool and not a bad walk. Next time I will request to be in or near the main lodge.

Another 1BR question. How often do mid week summer days open up from the wait list? I'm new to DVC and am trying to book my first stay, but every day in the week except Tues,Wed are available. Do I take a chance knowing I might have to move rooms mid week?

I'm trying to determine the same thing as the original poster and I'm wondering if the any of the 1 bedroom villas in the main lodge have a marsh view...or do any of the 1 bedroom villas have a marsh view - I think my kids would enjoy that...

Thanks!

There's a beautiful marsh view from building 18. I'd post a couple photos of the view, but I'm at work and photobucket's blocked here. I'll try later!

Thanks!! I'm at work and photos are usually blocked here anyways, but I'll check back later.

Yes, there are a number of 1BR villas in the Live Oak Lodge with Marsh views. There is a parking garage (ground level - but under cover) below Building 11/12 ( the Main Lodge) with elevator access to the upper floors - you can easily access all 16 of the 1BRs in that area from the elevators.

The other 5 1BRs (actually part of a 2BR lock-off) are on the first floor of their respective building beneath a GV. A couple of those have a Marsh View but some do not.

Enjoy! :)

From #1138-

From building #18 at low tide-

At high tide-

DW and myself are staying in a 2BR in May because no 1BR's were available. Seems like kind of a waste but that was all that was available at 7 months. We booked a Studio at 11 months (that is all the home pts. we have) but we usually change at 7 to something larger.

THANKS for the lovely pic of low tide!:) Any 2BR's in Building 18?:confused3
THANKS for the info!:thumbsup2

All Buildings at the HH DVC Resort have dedicated 2BR villas except for Buildings 11/12 - the Live Oak Lodge/Front Desk buildings (these are connected and have ONLY lock-off 2BRs that are usually available only as 1BRs and Studios unless reserved as a HCA 2BR).

Buildings 13, 18, 22, 24, 27, 29 and 31 all have similar views of Broad Creek (mid-June - mid-August the fireworks are launched from a barge in the marsh and these buildings have primo views of the display on Tuesday evenings and July 4). Of these buildings, only 18 has a GV and lock-off 2BR (reserved as a Studio and 1BR). Buildings 13, 18, 22, 24, 27, 29 and 31 have only dedicated 2BR villas.
