We booked a 5 day 4 night stay at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club. I am wondering if anyone has stayed there before? If so how was it? They said it is a mile and a half from WDW and they have a shuttle that goes there. Any insight would be appreciated. IA :woohoo:

We are here now, it is a beautiful resort. I think they charge for a shuttle to disney. We rented a car. They are very accomodating, give you all the shampoo, tide, towel paper, etc. that you need. The pool stays open until
11:00 pm. My boys enjoyed planning billards. The pool area is huge.

Thanks so much. We will probably get a car for at least a couple of days. Glad to hear the resort is nice. We would like to stay on Disney property but could not pass up the price. Thanks again for your help.

There are currently two HGVCs in Orlando, one near SeaWorld and one on International Drive next to the Premium Outlet shopping area on Vineland Avenue. I suspect that you've rented at the International Drive resort which is about 1 1/2 miles from the Downtown Disney area. The Hiltons are relatively high-end timeshare resorts and are very nice, so you should have a good time there.
You don't mention that a timeshare tour is required for your 5day/4 night stay and if a tour/presentation isn't required then that's good. If it isn't a requirement be aware that, as with most timeshare resorts, you'll likely be asked if you want to attend a 90 minute presentation (there's a new HGVC going up over on Palm Parkway) and they'll offer some premium for doing so. On a cautionary note, I always suggest that folks not attend these as they always take up much more than the advertised 90 minutes and will chew into your valuable vacation time.
Timeshare tour or not, I think you'll find the HGVC resort to be a very nice place to spend a few days while visiting Disney.

Thanks Dick. Actually we do have to attend a presentation. This is nothing new to us though. We do it all the time. This package is costing us $99 For a 1 bedroom villa 4 nights and 5 days.. Since we live across the country and have to pay for airfare it is quite a savings to vacation.

Thanks luvdisney14. That's what I love about this board. Everyone is so willing to help. I am wondering if you have gone to a presentation for Hilton? We have been to a few with Marriott and they are pretty easy. Last one we went t as in Hawaii. They kept us the 90 minutes they said and then let us go. Not to much pressure to buy. Hoping the Hilton is the same way.:thumbsup2

This resort is gorgeous! We had a 2 bedroom with 4 adults and 2 kids and never felt cramped. Our room was so quiet! Almost all the rooms overlook the huge lake in the middle of the resort so you have a great view. We were in building 6 on floor 6 and it was beautiful. We would stay there agin in a heartbeat.

We did not use the shuttle as we had a car. But it is so quick to get to all of the parks. I think the longest drive to MK was only 15 minutes.

There is a Publix right across the street you can walk to if needed and the outlets are right next door.

It is in a great location with no traffic at all.

Thanks casjan. Good to know about the Publix and the outlets (which my husband will not be happy about) We will have a full kitchen and don't mind cooking some while on vacation.

To whoever sent the private message I tried to reply but said I needed 10 posts first. I have been here many times in the past but lost my password and had to re register. Hopefully I have posted 10 times by now.

I did not to a presentation. We traded our timeshare week into the hilton. If you are planning on going to the pool alot, I would request building 1 (so close to the pool). We actually had to wait a few hours to get a clean room in building 1, but it was worth it because we tend to go back and forth to the pool all day. My only concern was - watch the dryer - some of our clothes shrunk a little.

Thanks luvdisney14. Not sure how much we will be going to the pool. We will be going with my DD18 and DS22. ( By the way my son is the real Disney nut)We also have a pool so, it may not be one of those things they have to do.

We own at the Hilton VC near Sea World, and we have stayed at the other one also- they are both lovely. Nice grounds, great pool, and beautiful rooms. Very relaxing. Close to WDW. Time share presentation is not high pressure.

KathyFG... thanks for the heads up on the presentations. I don't mind seeing the resort or what they have to offer but I have been where they REALLY pressure you to buy. I feel more relaxed now. Thanks:yay:

Thanks for the info, I traded RCI points for here.
We leave in 24 days. Three adults in a two bedroom, should have enough room then. If not DVC would love to buy here vs Parkay, where I own but have never stayed. I loved this area much better.
I have stayed here for a night in studio, and loved it. Has the parking inproved at all? Was my only complaint, when getting back last there was no parking available.
