Ill staying here for three nights once completing the "tour/were going to try and sell you a timeshare"..... Anybody done this before?

We attended Marriott timeshare presentation but we decided to join Disney Vacation Club . We felt DVC fit our plan better than other timeshare . Good luck.

I have stayed at this Hilton several times before. Never attended the timeshare spiel, always kept giving excuses for not being able to go. The resort is amazing. The pool is great, activities are fantastic, rooms are nice and the quick food ( I think pizza hut) is very resonably priced. When we stayed we booked online directly through Hilton. Maybe that is why we weren't pressured as much with timeshares as I think some of the rooms are more hotel style. THe only difference is you don't have daily room cleaning unless you pay for it.

Keep in mind that if you book the discounted rate that includes the timeshare spiel, you cannot simply give excuses for not going or they will charge your credit card for the rate difference.

I have sat through a few. One I did end up purchasing as intended, the other I did not.

I am staying at HGVC Sea World in May throught an RCI trade and am looking forward to it. I have read good things about it and am very excited about the front of the line passes for Sea World.

We stayed there last May in a 1 bedroom unit. We got a great AAA rate-$116,I believe-and we did not have to attend a timeshare spiel. We did receive daily housekeeping. It is an amazing place, and we just loved it!

I wasn't aware of the front of the line passes... how do we take advantage of this?

How did you sign up for it? I would love to sign up for a couple of these for tickets and stuff. Looking for a cheap trip this summer!

Have sat through a presentation a few times for timeshares. All I can say is good luck as they make it sound really wonderful and once you are gone... reality steps in. Can be quite costly on the long run.

We have stayed at HGVC Seaworld, Tuscany (International Drive) and Parc Soleil. All are great properties with plenty of amenities and activities. Seaworld is the oldest of three but has been refurbished. We took advantage of three heavily discounted stays before buying into the Tuscany property (our fave of the the three) for a relatively small number of every-other-year points. We already have a Marriott timeshare so this was plenty for us. They offered us a huge number of bonus points as an incentive and for us the price was right. The nice thing about HGVC for us as Florida residents is that we are also able to book open Florida properties at one month out for a heavily discounted cash rate (studios at $60/night, 1BR at $80, etc.)

The other great thing is that HGVC seems to have great trading power within RCI. We were able to trade for a week at BLT (1BR) this July back in January. That was with less than three-quarters of our 2012 points and none of our bonus points, so we still have plenty for next year.

The sales pitch itself is pretty standard. Videos of happy vacationers, breakdown of how much you normally spend on vacations vs. HGVC, etc. They do want an answer that day for offers to be valid, so do your homework if you think you're at all interested. If you're not, no big deal, they don't get mad. They know that you may be back in the future and they don't want to alienate you.

I assume that you're just leveraging the timeshare presentation requirement to get the low priced lodging. So, a couple of things that you might want to prepare yourself for...

HGVC SeaWorld is the oldest of the three Orlando HGVC timeshare resorts and I think that the tours/presentations probably take place at their Parc Soleil property on Palm Parkway and I'd think that you'd be shuttled over to Parc Soleil for the presentation. If that's the case then that means that you won't be at your resort for the "90 minute" presentation. So you can't just leave when your 90 minutes is up. Not sure how close HGVC sales staff holds their tour/presentation/sales pitch process to the 90 minutes but it's surely not unusual for the whole timeshare sales experience to go much longer than that.

The SeaWorld resort itself is very nice and you should enjoy your stay there.

HGV SeaWorld is a SeaWorld partner so all guests there get some perks. They have a link on the hilton. com site that tells about it.

Last spring we stayed at DTD Hilton for the time share "spiel". Really, wasn't that bad. You do have to go to get the discounted price. The Hard sell wasn't really hard at all. Just make sure that you know your answer before you go, and stick to it. And, yes, they transported us to Park Soliel. Trans. was fine, and prompt. It was really nothing scary. Would I do it again? Well, they have been calling my DH's phone, and we aren't jumping at it. We decided that what we lost in vacation time, wasn't really worth the room discount we got.

You are correct. HGVC has closed their sales floors at Tuscany and HGVR SW. They have one floor at Parc Soleil dedicated to potential owners and a separate floor for current owners only.

Sorry for the double post but I think this is a very smart practice by Hilton. Have your guests stay at one property and tour another. It exposes the guests to the variety of the brand and, as other posters have mentioned, you can book the resort as a regular hotel room without obligation.

There is a desk in the lobby you go up to and get your passes. You can also go to the park early as well as attend a Special morning tour when they have them.

Get there early because they only have a limited number, once they are gone they are gone. We did not have a problem but you never know during the busier seasons.

Have a great trip, we stayed last year and had a great time. My parents really liked the property.
