I asked this question a while back, but here it goes again. I currently own at SSR and am thinking about purchasing a HGVC timeshare in Las Vegas to compliment my DVC for trades outside of Disney.

The cost is $4000 for 3400 points in Gold season at the Flamingo Hilton. How hard is it to trade outside of HGVC to othe Hilton locations and thorugh RCI. It this a good value?

Believe me, I love my DVC and SSR, but again want an additional timeshare to trade out for skiing in the west etc. Thanks

I'd strongly encourage you to register on TUG - Timeshare Users Group and read the free forums there. For information on timeshares in general and buying for various purposes, there's no better online resource of knowledgable people. Most DVC owners would not be familiar enough with the HGVC program to understand the value of your proposed purchase. But there are plenty of Tuggers who would know and be able to advise you! HTH!

Definitely visit the Timeshare User Group (TUG) Bulletin Boards. I haven't had any problems booking stays at other HGVC resorts however I normally plan my vacations well ahead of time and travel offseason. Sorry I don't have any experience with RCI so I can't comment.
