Hilton Grand Vacation Club?

Honestly, I'm going to have better luck getting them into another system---and, given HGVC's relatively limited set of locations, another system would probably work better for them in any event.
And you don't want to push them into anything that might not work out. HGVC isn't that limited overall and it's about as flexible as they get used correctly though maybe a bit more complicated than some it seems. Likely your best tactic to help them is to casually let them know about your successes and possibly drag them along to some nice places if you can. I know many people that are so set against timeshares that they couldn't even consider one no matter how much sense it makes for them otherwise.

We haven't been to a timeshare presentation in about 20 years. When we bought DVC we didn't do a tour, either. We just called up tele sales and bought. My husband said he wouldn't buy if we had to do a tour. (Yes, still scarred from the last tour we did in Redington Beach, FL).

Even though we own a Marriott, too, we've never done a Marriott sales tour. My husband refuses to go.

I've wanted to try Hilton's Seaworld resort. If I ever get a good deal, I'll try it.

Do you have anything that trades with RCI, if so, you should have no problem getting a cheap deal in there.

Yes, but II gives me two bonus weeks for it so I'll probably never give it to RCI. I was hoping I might see Hilton as an RCI extra vacation, but I think that's pretty rare - unless I catch a last minute cancellation.

You might but as you say, likely short notice. The problem with trying to get the top resorts in Orlando on short notice for II or RCI is that exchangers migrate to them as well. If a store carries 5 brands of a given item type and they are all the same price, almost everyone will buy the one perceived as the best first and the leftovers will be of lessor brands. This is a little less of a problem with II than RCI in Orlando as II has less members and actually is someone top heavy on the great resorts in comparison to RCI. RCI also is more likely to sell inventory they know won't be used off to non members compared to II. Still, cancellations and late deposit do happen so keep checking. If you want to check availability, you might email me directly and I can see what things look like online. You may also want to consider a small RCI points account.
