Hello! I am currently planning my second trip to Disneyland (my husband’s first) and was looking for a Hilton branded Good Neighbor hotel. I know the Hilton Anaheim convention center is currently not available for our travel dates (1/31-2/5), but was curious if anyone had stayed at the below hotels and could provide any opinion. If at all possible we want to stay within walking distance of the parks.

1. SunCoast Park Hotel Anaheim, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
2. Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort - Convention Center
3. Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort - Convention Center
4. Embassy Suites Anaheim South
5. Any of the Garden Grove area Hilton Hotels

We are only looking at the Hilton properties to use points and save some money for in the parks. Any past experiences would be greatly appreciated to aid in which hotel to choose. My previous stay was at a Holiday Inn just beyond the parking garage during half marathon weekend and I loved the ease of access to be able to walk to the parks from the hotel. Thanks in advanced for your help!

My pick would be #3. Homewood gets great reviews here, and is the closest to the parks. If the walk gets daunting, it is right next to the Toy Story parking lot, where you can hop on a Disney shuttle.

I've stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites, Doubletree, Homewood Suites and Embassy Suites, all in Garden Grove about a 20-30 minute walk to the parks. They all have shuttles for a small fee, too.

They are all great. They all have free hot breakfast every day with the exception of Doubletree, which offers that to Diamond Honors members. If you are just looking for a place to sleep and shower, or if you need kitchen facilities, Homewood and Hampton will be fine.

If you want a fancier pool, Embassy Suites is good. I didn't even look at the pool at Doubletree, so I can't comment on that. Embassy Suites has several family type restaurants on the same block as does one of the others, but I can't remember which one as I normally just use the place to shower and crash.

I've stayed at the Homewood Suites Convention center lots of times. Its great! We just pop next door to the Toy Story lot and catch the shuttle to and from Disneyland.

I prefer the Hilton Convention Center the best of those. It's across the street from Toy Story Parking Lot as well as only a short walk up Harbor Blvd to the parks. The Starbucks in the lobby is really nice. If you catch it at the right times, I've gotten really good rates there.

On a side note I've stayed at a lot of Hilton properties, and the Embassy Suites Anaheim South is one of my least favorite properties. It's dirty and the staff is unaccommodating to any requests. I'd recommend anywhere else.

The cheapest I've ever stayed there was $59/night maybe summer 2013 during one of their Friends & Family deals. Not only that but we got placed on the Lanai floor. It was really odd too as there didn't seem to be any major convention, but there seemed to be a lot of people there for an international roller hockey tournament in Long Beach. I guess that it was a lot cheaper even though it was kind of far away.
