Hilton at DTD for one night?

We are driving down on Saturday morning. It takes us roughly 12 hours to get to Orlando so we have decided to stay offsite for that first night. We want to be close to DTD which is where we will spend some time that evening when we get there. I've read that the Hilton is directly across the street from DTD so is this the best hotel to stay in if we want to WALK to DTD?...or is there a better one?

I've done this twice. Literally across the sidewalk and you are in DTD. It was great ! We checked in, took a quick swim, then headed over to Rainforest Cafe for dinner and some DTD atmosphere.

That sounds PERFECT!!!! Any good ways to get discounts on the rooms? We've never stayed offsite before. Thanks for the info!!!

December may be hard. We were down there Dec 30....on for a week and both Hilton and Doubletree Suites were more than I wanted to spend. I paid $109 a night last September, off season. But you never know if you only want one night and they may be trying to fill rooms. We got our room only a week out and that great rate. You can try expedia and if you have AAA, maybe get a discount. Do you have any Hilton points, maybe you could cover one night ?

We are going the first week of December. Maybe I will just wait until a week or so out and see what they have. Right now it would be $229/night. We would pay that...but anything cheaper would be great! LOL.
