Hilton at Downtown Disney

We stayed at the DTD Hilton last month - June 22-28. We loved it. They do have shuttles to all of Disney parks that are shared with 2 other hotels, but Hilton is the only one that participates in the extended hours. There are 3 seperate shuttles 1 to the water parks and the others to 2 of the parks each.
We had a 2 bed room (sorry cant remember if they were queens or doubles) three of us in there, dh, ds, and myself. It face the entryway and fountains.

One of the best things was being able to walk to DTD (had an Earl of Sandwich fixation!) in less than 5 minutes!

We will be staying here again!

We are also a giant fan of the Earl of Sandwich, we make sure we go there every trip and also on the day we leave so I can have another sandwich on the drive home:goodvibes

FYI On Sept 27 2008 Pleasure Island will be closed forever. Disney is closing Pleasure Island to make room for more shopping.

Thanks that makes the decision alot easier.... darn sales person was trying to talk me into a room facing downtown disney so i could watch the fireworks...lol

It's been kind of mentioned in a few of the other posts, but the sales person was correct as of today. Each evening at midnight there are fireworks from Pleasure Island that would be viewable from the Hilton.

However, as others have mentioned, this is expected to stop when Pleasure Island closes at the end of September. That being said, I'm not sure I would pay additional for this view. We were able to see the fireworks at Pleasure Island from our SSR room each night and they are nothing spectacular. Probably less than 5 minutes for the entire show. After the first 2 nights, we didn't even bother to go to the window to watch them.

I dont think there have been midnight fireworks at PI for a couple of years now. The fireworks were associated with the New Year's Eve countdown each night, and that is no longer done.

And, certainly, PI is near its end anyway!
