Hilton Anaheim or Marriott?

Using the posts on this board and Expedia, I have narrowed down our choice for Disneyland hotels to the Hilton Anaheim or the Marriott Anaheim. We want to be able to walk to the parks and Downtown Disney, which seems to be possible with both these hotels. We usually stay onsite in Disney World, but this does not seem to be as important with the size of Disneyland, and the cost difference is huge. Expedia lists the Hilton as a 4star and the Marriott as a 3star so I'm leaning towards the Hilton. I would appreciate any comments on the quality of the location, service, pools, rooms, etc., at these hotels. Thanks.

The Hilton is a bit closer than the Marriott; it's right across Katella- your hotel will be facing Paradise Pier. We stayed at the Hilton in 5/00 and it was very nice. We were upgraded to a suite because my DH knew the security manager there, so we had a room facing the park and we could watch the fireworks. They had a few nice restaurants and a big pool with several hot tubs. I stayed at the Marriott many, many years ago, so I don't recall the details clearly, but I think you would be happy with the Hilton. Have fun!
