First, there is no other possible interpretation to what she said other than, "... a leading candidate got assasinated in '68 in June, so if something like that happens this June then I'd be crazy to have gotten out of the race.". That is the only reason to reference RFK as justification to stay in the race. Why else reference him? There is no other way to read it.
It doesn't mean that she's planning to kill him, (although it doesn't mean she's not either), it means "if he gets shot I get to be the Dem candidate".

Second, she insulted Obama and she apologized to the Kennedys. Not a trace of remorse for what she implied. Just psychotic damage control. Truly digusting.

Her entire point about RFK was not that he was assassinated but that there was still a race going on into June that year. People are telling her that she should get out, that the race shouldn't be going on this long; she was pointing out a couple of races that did go on this long in the past and asking why it was ok for them to be in the race until June but she's being told that she must get out. It had nothing to do with the assignation or that she thinks there is a possibility that Obama will be assassinated. That's why she didn't apologize to Obama - it had nothing to do with him!

I agree! But in her position, she shoudn't use that word at all.

Hi folks.

Just wanted to stop in and say thanks for those well wishes and prayers.

My Mom passed away last night.

Please remember that there's more to life than this political fight we have going on here.......
I have not been posting on this thread (or on the DIS for that matter) for various reasons but I'll post today.

I am so sorry for your loss {{hugs}}. I am sending off good thoughts for you and your family.

I can't remember off the top of my head but last night on Countdown with Kieth Olbermann he mentioned at least 5 other races that run through June. Why not mention those races? All those high paid advisors and they can't research that. Why mention the death of RFK? If she stated that in those years the race was going on you'd have a point. She mentioned the death of Bobby. This was her reasons for staying in the race. Olbermann also mentioned that this is her 4th time stating this comment without the word assassination in it. That word is the problem.

And that's why she apologized. She didn't mean to reference the assassination itself, I honestly believe that when she was trying to formulate her words that the assassination overshadowed in her mind, as that was a huge thing to have happened, when she was thinking about RFK and she accidentally referenced that because the assassination took place in June, RKF was still running in the election in June. She simply misspoke.

I read that someone else had previously brought up to her that RFK was one of the people running into June and as it was brought up to her, that's one person she keeps recalling when making that statement.

The fact that she has said that statement 3 other times, referencing both her husband and RFK, without the word 'assassination' I think helps prove that she didn't mean to use the word assassination. I honestly believe that it was a misspoken word, there were no sinister intentions behind it.

You may have a point, but why not apologize to Obama. It's reasonable that we all make mistakes and say things we don't mean or words just come out wrong (I've been there). What bothers me is her lack of humility. She's sorry "IF" she offended anyone. Come on. "IF". Obama, comparing this election with that of '68 and the death of a man killed while running for president so she can have the Dem nom - if that offends anyone, I'm sorry. :confused3

I believe she made a mistake back in March but not yesterday.

Maybe she thought everyone would overlook it like they did the last time around.

Then why not apologize to Obama. Why make that half attempt apology to the Kennedy's and then state "if I offended anyone". She should have come out with a strong apology, a fighting apology. You know, how she tries so hard to show herself on the road. Even Huckabee made a 'sincere' apology.

Exactly.....the woman needs to eat some humble pie....Those tears worked good in Massachusets(spellcheck)....a real heartfelt apology to any possible offense to Obama....can't hurt.

Some of us just see what we want to see.

How anyone can say Obama, Hilary, and McCain aren't intelligent is beyond me.

You may not agree with their politics, but that doesn't delete their intelligence.

I don't understand how a bunch of strangers on a message board can play a role in someone's decision to vote for a candidate. As much as I hate some of the things that have been posted here, it has no impact on my feelings about Hillary.

I don’t believe that your opinions/views are a reflection of her. She has no control over the things you post.

My decision not to vote for her is based on things that have come out of her own mouth. (and her husband's)

And if you go back and read my post you will see as I HEARD more and more about Obama (and his wife) and WATCHED more and more of his speeches I started to dislike him more and more.

Telling me I don't like Obama because I am racist will NOT make me like him anymore. I decided I didn't like him a few months ago, but the OS are making me despise him! Nice way to get people to vote for your candidate.
I am tired of defending myself that I am not a racist. You guys believe what you want....I KNOW WHAT I AM and THAT is all the matters to me

I understand you may see intelligence when he speaks, but I see nothing but a man with a very big ego and talks a lot of fluff. Kind of like our current President ;)

I will say this about Obama, the man is smart. He knows just what to say to get people to like and vote for him, sounds like any other politician. Just some people don't fall of it.

By the way if we Hillary supporters don't matter why do you Obama supporters keep coming over here? Do you just like to stir up trouble? I don't even lurk on your Obama thread because Obama does NOT interest me. If I see a thread, any thread on this board that doesn't interest me, I don't open it. If you don't like Hillary why would you even want to read and post on a thread about her with people that SUPPORT and ADMIRE her????? :confused3

Her misspoken words about RFK, at worst, were insensitive to the Kennedy family (although she did not mean them in that way). But no, this somehow had to be about Obama, not RFK, not the Kennedy family, but about Obama. Her words, that had nothing whatsoever to do with Obama, were twisted into ‘Hillary whishes Obama’s assignation before the conventions so she can take his place in the election.’ :sad2:

This is even what Obama's campaign leader said about what she had spoke. He couldn't really comment, because they didn't believe it had anything to do with Obama and everything to do with the Kennedy's. In my mind this whole thing is between the Kennedy's and Senator Clinton. Obama media is twisting this around and making it really ugly. Did you guys hear Keith Oberbutt last night? I think he was really spitting at the camera. I was laughing at him so hard, because I thought his eyeballs were going to pop out. Talk about an alarmist and extreme hatred for one person. This is what is being fed to the supporters? Terrible.:sad2:

I believe that Hillary didn't mean assasination to any candidate, let alone Obama. I really don't think that's where her mind was going. There were some media stating that if you knew her, you would know that's not what she meant. Then there's others that can't be convinced either way. I'm not a Kennedy, so I'm staying out of it.

How can some of you see the sexism but not the racism?

I see both.

Ok, I will give you that. YES SOME people will not vote for Obama because he is black. I will give you that. Just like some people will never vote for a Hillary because she is a woman.

But saying I am not supporting Obama because he is black is just like me saying to YOU that YOU are not supporting Hillary because she is a woman. Doesn't make much sense, does it?

How can some of you see the sexism but not the racism?

I see both.

I see both also. Not so much here and I don't have to hear about it to know it's out there.
I can see how it's prominent for both candidates and even agism if I may throw that in there. They all have these issues to deal with in this Presidential race.

Second, she insulted Obama and she apologized to the Kennedys. Not a trace of remorse for what she implied. Just psychotic damage control. Truly digusting.

Why should she? She referenced Bobby Kennedy, not Obama. Why should she apologize to Obama if it had nothing to do with him? His supporters and media are ONLY make it about him. Apologizing as you guys want, would only say she did mean it that way AND SHE DIDN'T. So the media and OS need to lay off!

This is also the reason behind those HS who won't vote for Barack. What's so different? The candidate?

Did you read my post?

Some of us just see what we want to see.

Several people here have said that the OS are making it harder and harder for them to get behind Obama. Someone even said they are starting to despise Obama based on what someone here has posted.

How can strangers on a Disney planning board, influence who anyone will or will not vote for??

Guys - there really is no need for everyone to sit here and debate, it is a moot point. She is DONE. It is all over.

Obama has secured the nomination and will be our next President in 2008 and 2012! Gobama!

Go away little troll!!!

Oh man :(. {{Hugs}} to you too.

Thank you!
One day at a time.
Yeah, I may get a little ruffled up here on these threads, but in the end I don't let anyone say really bother me.
Life is way too short and I have more important issues to deal with at home then what others think of me on here.

When I turn off the computer I let all the debates and such go away too.
Spending time with my dad and family is the most important thing right now.
