Hillary Supporters unite part 2; no bashing please

Just a side note on Hillary...

My dd9 is in the third grade and today their biographical oral report is due. Out of all the people she could have chosen, she chose Hillary! She had to dress like her character so I found her a red blazer and an American flag pin to put on her lapel and she put her long hair up. The teacher is filming them and I look forward to see how she and her classmates did on their reports.

It is interesting to see this election through the eyes of my young daughter as she has an interest (her teacher talks about it a lot) and she tells me which states Hillary wins in before I even know!

My dd will be very disappointed if Hillary doesn't make it..

That's adorable. I posted (a few months ago) about my DD9 who is also interested in politics (she's rooting for McCain ). I find it amazing that kids this age are so interested and involved. I think it's just great.

When my oldest boy was in 2nd grade a few years back. The kids in his class learned about some important people throughout history. All of the kids were asked what famous person they would want to be, and they wrote it down on a patrioticly decorated paper and the papers were displayed throughout the school. My son choose Bill Clinton, this was so fresh off of the Lewinsky thing (He was too young to know about this, at least I hope he was). You can bet that his aspirations to be like Bill Clinton draw more then a few chuckles.

There is room for thought there. I feel really uneasy about the judges though and the war dragging on and on bothers me too.

Nope! I want the ONLY qualified person who will work for the American People....HILLARY!

That's where I stand....If not for the war and the SC I would most likely vote McCain since we have a DEm house. Obama is so far to the left IMO that I cant see many REp wanting to be united with him.

I third that.

McCain did say that he is considering bringing the troops back and I do have hope that a more active Democratic Congress will be able to force the removal of the troops.

Back from my vacation and ready to get political again. It was nice not to have to think about news and the political arena while putting my kids on the teacups or Dumbo.

Would I want McCain over Obama? I don't think so. I get confused sometimes and go back and forth. I like more moderate candidates that work with both sides of the aisle. I think Hillary fits that mold the best and then I think McCain would. I'm not so sure about Obama's ability to reach across the aisle. Then again, I can't see wanting another Republican in the seat. Blech! It's like being between a rock and a hard place as a Hillary supporter.

I'm just waiting for this primary time to be over and see where we go from here. I'm so glad she's doing so well though throughout this race. Goes to show you that LOTS of people think like we do!!!

Even if she doesn't get the nomination, she will make a clear statement that she is a very strong canidate. She may even finish by winning the popular vote. This also cast many doubts on if Obama can win the general election.

I think Obama has shifted focus to McCain. At least the media has shift to a McCain VS. Obama stand. Its a nice break from all the (media) calls for Hillary to drop out.

It sure is nice not to hear all the Hillary bashing...just about all the pundits are saying she needs to stay in at this point all the way because otherwise the voters that have not voted for her yet will be upset. WE need to finish out the process of ALL voting.

My kids also are involved. How could they not hearing DH and I talking all the time. And me always having the news on back and forth through all the channels and on the Internet Running around yelling GO HILLARY they laugh at me. I have told them that they need to watch the news and do research to see who they would vote for. I told them that just because I want Hillary does not mean the you would. Geesh you could be a republican for all I know (But there's nothing wrong with that )

Not only is Byrd the senior senator for WV but at 91 and the number of years he has spent in the senate, nothing more needs to be said. It is time to unite and get rid of the hate. All Dems need to come together. Lets joined hands for a common cause.

My vote goes with the best canidate. Sorry, but I do not feel that Obama is the best canidate. It's not about race or gender. No one should vote for someone because of their color or their gender.

Just not sure what some OS really want from us....we were not needed before. And no good. OS still dont want Hillary as there VP....but you want our vote anyway. This does not count all OS....but the majority IMO

I don't get it either. Riot...another scare tactic to the SD's to vote Obama. These are the Democratic party's rules, not Hillary's or Baracks for that matter. The SD's can vote for the cadidate they want. Why set the rules up like this if it's so unfair. You think they would just let popular vote count and leave it like that, then get the SD's involved.

If the race is close like it is, then the SD's vote for who they feel will best represent the democratic party in the general election...right? This is an individual vote...just like you and me going to the polls...so why do they need to vote how the people voted?

There's no stealing the nomination, when following the rules (as twisted as they seem) as the Democratic party set it up as. JMO.

If you're going to play by the rules, then play by the rules. You don't get to pick and choose, and neither does Hillary Clinton.

I have no idea what you are talking about. There is a huge difference between complaining about rules you feel are unfair and wanting them changed and threatening to riot if your guy loses.

I saw the post you quoted above, and I don't think he was threatening to riot at all. He was simply pointing out - just as many have done both here and in the national media - that for the party to tell the first black candidate ever to receive the most delegate votes, the most popular vote (as close as it can be determined, given the caucus states that don't report it), and the first to ever win the vast majority of states, "Thanks. Congrats on all that, but we're giving the nomination to the other candidate" could potentially lead to problems at the convention. That poster wasn't condoning those actions, and neither am I. There is a difference between condoning something and predicting it.

And it's not like the rules have changed between the day Hillary got in this race and now. In fact, they haven't much changed in a couple decades now. Consequently, complaining now, when she is behind, comes off as disingenuous at best. Self serving. The rules were the exact same when her husband ran, and I didn't hear a lot of complaints then about caucuses and how unfair it was for Iowa and New Hampshire to get to go first all the time. Did you?
