Hillary 2008

How likely would it be that you would vote for Hillary Clinton

  • Definitely no questions asked

  • Most likely

  • Possibly

  • It would depend on who she was running against

  • Probably not

  • No Way

Results are only viewable after voting.
My answer is the same for this Hillary thread as it was for the dozen or so other threads about whether you would vote for Hillary: YES.

I guess I missed all the dozen or so other POLLS. The discussion threads were too hard to get an idea since the same people keep posting to them to prove their side either for or against.

It depends on who the GOP nominee is.

In a way, I think the US is suffering from Bush/Clinton fatigue. Every Presidential election since 1980 has involved a Bush or a Clinton. I think both parties need some fresh faces and some fresh ideas, not the same old people in each cycle.

I think that's the appeal of Obama. Of course, I'm undecided on him also. My early favorite, former VA Governor Mark Warner, took himself out of the running. I haven't done much research on any of the candidates on either side, but the primaries won't start for another year, so I think I have time. :rolleyes1

If she is the nominee, definitely.

I have very little in common if anything with the Republican Party. Just can't vote for Jesse Helms party:eek: .

I'm watching her town hall meeting from yesterday on CSPAN, and I must say I'm pretty impressed with her speaking style and her ideas. I'm trying to keep an open mind with her and not to strike her off my list.

I was torn between "probably not" and "no way" ( I picked "probably not"). The only way I can myself voting for her is if the Republicans put up someone that I disagreed with even more than I disagree with her, and I don't see that happening.

There are currently very, very few Democrats I could see myself voting for in a Presidential election, and she isn't one of them.

Then her transformation has worked and is almost complete.

I voted no.

It would be interesting to hear 3 legitimate reasons why she would (or would not) get your vote.

Yeah after an hour of watching, it was getting a little much and too scripted. I'm looking forward to the primary debates.

She said that she's ready for the fashion and hair style questions from the media. I thought that was pretty funny.

You just eloquently stated why I never did vote for GWB.

Isn't it great that we live in a place where we can respectfully disagree with others on politics with statements like this.

As for me, I am thinking we are in one of those right man (or woman) at the right time moments of history, and I think we really have not yet seen/have only just started to see who that person will be.

In 2004, it was one of those "lesser of two evils" votes for me. I want to actually be excited for the candidate in 2008 I am voting for. I was excited for Clinton both times he ran (couldn't vote in either election though) but haven't been excited in ANY election since.

I am paying more attention to the fresh faces in both parties this time around as the names that have been around (hillary, edwards, mccain, namely are more of the same I feel like).

I voted No Way, and it's not because she's a woman. I've always felt Hillary was very liberal, but just acting like a moderate (wolf in sheeps clothing). I know, someone's going to say, "look at her voting record to see that she is a moderate." I know that, but it's just a gut feeling I have.

I totally understand that. It's how I feel about McCain...I don't think he's genuine at all. He realized in 2000 that being an "independent" in the primary doesn't work and has been sliding more and more to the right since, gearing up for the 2008 primary. Then he'll try shifting back to the center for the general election. It's why I think the primary system is such crap.

As for Hillary, I think she's even less of a genuine person..although I think she cares alot about healthcare and 'children's issues' and I respect her for that. But she's just too scripted for me a lot of the times.
