Hilarious Rasul Experience!

I just had to share our tablemates' story about the Rasual from our cruise this weekend. We were seated with newlyweds, and they were asking about fun things to do on the ship. So of course we had to tell them about the surial/rasual, with lots of wink-winks to give them some idea of what it's all about for couples. They got an appointment, and on the last night, they shared their experience. When they went in, there was one type of mud and all sorts of spa products. They noticed the two rooms and were a bit worried that someone else might be joining them, but they soon realized that it was private. Well, the wife wanted to try the spa products...but the husband soon realized she wanted to try them on him!! He wanted no part of that, so he hightailed it into the steam room and decided to see just how long he could stand it in there...as they explained it, sort of an Indian Sweat Lodge type concept. If you've ever done the Rasual, you know how intense the steam is. So she tried the spa products in the outer area while he withered away in the heat (I don't think he met his spirit guide, though). By the end, at the ten minute warning knock, he was lying on the floor in a jelly-like puddle, telling her proudly that he must have lost at least a pound! By the time they were done telling about their experience, my face hurt from laughing. I've had some "interesting" Rasual experiences, but never anything like that.

I am personally NOT a fan, but I have laughed about our experience enough for my money's worth. The steam was so darn hot that I kept running to the sink, but the problem here was steam was pouring out from under the sink burning my feet. Nothing romantic about sweating like a pig and wanting to vomit from the heat. So we hightailed it to the showers which were so frigid cold that I almost had a heart attack. I crawled out of there like a prune.

We have done the "mud room" every time we have cruised. We sit in the steam room and shoot water at eachother...but I agree, it is TOO HOT!!! Have to put your feet up on the sink, cause the floor is burning...

That story is just too funny...
