Hi guys! Just wanted to do a little intro.

My name's Jenn. This will be only my second trip to see the Mouse! My first time was in 2000 just after I got married. Now the hubby and I are taking our little girl for her first trip. Our first time it was just us 2 and we stayed in one of the PO hotels. This time, we're going with another family who have a little girl our daughter's age and we're going to get a villa at Saratoga Springs. We're also taking a much more relaxed approach this time and using no touring plans. We're going late January to avoid the heat and the crowds and probably sticking to just Disney and not venturing out to Sea World or Universal this time. We plan on "planning" our parks/day and our dinner reservations, but that's about it. :)

We're early in our planning process as we've just decided on the date. My friend is checking with her contact to secure some points for us for SS and then we'll be in full planning mode! :cloud9: I'm a big proponent of the Unofficial guides and I just got my 2008 one for WDW at Cmas. In fact, that's how I got here to this board!

Oh, and a bit about me: I'm Jenn. I'm 31 and we live in the Atlanta area. I work as a plant cost accountant for an asphalt sales and manufacturing company. My husband is Chris and he's 34 and works for Home Depot as a senior software developer. We have one little girl, Emily, and she's 4yo, but will be 5 when we go to WDW. We're big geek-types and love to watch tv and movies, and play video games (specifically WoW!). I also LOVE to read.

Anyway, look forward to meeting you all!

:welcome:

I'm new here as well from the Atlanta area. Congrats on your trip! Sounds like it will be great, look forward to hearing more about the planning and hearing how the trip was after y'all get back!

Welcome. I'm new to the boards myself but have already learned so much here. We were planning on going to Disney in October during DD#1's fall break from Kindergarten. But now I think we are going to wait until next March/April and go during her spring break instead. Her spring break counting weekends is 10 days and her fall break is only 6. DH has been to Disney once as a kid. I have never been and neither have my 2 DD's ages 5 and 3. I think I'm more excited than they are, but I'm sure that is just because they really don't know what to even expect. All they know is they are going to get to meet "the real Cinderella" They have watched one of the Travel channels specials on Disney and it showed lots of Characters and DD#1 was really excited until it was over then she promptly anounced she didn't want to go there because they didn't have Ariel. I told her I'm sure Ariel is there they just couldn't show everything on a 1 hour show and now she is :yay:

If we do wait and go in late March into April it we will call it their b-day present/party. #1 has a b-day of March 31 and #2 has a b-day of March 20. Does it get any better than celebrating your b-day at Disney.

Hi Jenn, welcome to the boards!!! Planning a trip w/ the little one's are so much fun! When you have a minute hop on over to the 2009 planning discussion (I attached link below) and add your name to the list... Enjoy planning & have fun posting on the boards. They become very addictive! :surfweb:

Holly - This will kinda be a Bday gift for our DD too. :) Her bday's on January 21 and we're leaving the following Saturday. We just couldn't do it on her bday since it runs into the MLK holiday. I'm not a heat OR crowd person, so we wanted to plan our time for the least populated week we could manage! We'd originally planned on the 2nd week in December (that's when we went the first time), but the friends we're planning with couldn't do that, so we compromised. :)

Jrabbit - Done and done. XD

Hello! :wave2: It sounds like you have a great trip planned. I've always wanted to stay at SS, but I haven't gotten the chance yet.
This site has been invaluable to me in planning my trips.
You may want to think about starting a pre-trip report on the Trip Report board. It's never too early! ;)
