Highs & Lows (not just the flight!)

Hello!

We're back from our Halloween Trip and will try and post TR, restaurant reviews, etc over the coming week but here are the headlines:

Lows:

Walts - I never thought I would be saying this but we were disappointed. The service was slow and poor, had to ask for our water 3 times, they were turning away families who had reservations and food was not up to standard.

The hotel buses - there really need to be more in the evening and maybe one per hotel rather than one for HNY and SL and NBC, long waits and no seats, rude people pushing etc... Possibly extra buses for people with the access passes who need somewhere to sit down?

Losing my phone...

Closures day - we had a morning where we kept walking and getting nowhere! Star Tours closed, got on Orbitron and had to get off again, POTC was closed, PM was closed all day too. Frustrating as it takes my Mum a LONG time to walk anywhere but didn't spoil our day.

The weather on the journey home last night, the flight was a lot like the Star Tours ride

Think that's it!

Highs:

Silver Spur Steakhouse - possibly our new favourite restaurant! Loved it!

Dreams - love the new scenes and we could see the fireworks from our room!

Golden Forest - brilliant! Breakfast was great and the characters were a bonus, luggage service was a life saver, cakes in the afternoon, hot chocolate in the evening, and fast passes that we didn't get to use...!

Easy Access Pass - this really was the highlight of our trip and saving time on the queues made up for it taking us 4 x as long to walk anywhere as everyone else! We would really have struggled to do much without it as there were some long queues...

Jack & Sally - I will post the photos etc in the TR but he was just fabulous and spent so much time with DD, singing to her, chatting away about all sorts, perfect!

Mini DIS meet with Lisa & Johnny in the DLH the girls really hit it off and after hugging all the characters they went off on secret spy missions!

Getting my phone back Thank you to whoever handed it in!

All in all an AMAZING holiday!!!

Glad to hear you had a good time.
But sorry to hear about so many closures, that's always a bummer.

We keep saying we want to try Silver Spur..can you tell me what made it so great? (as we usually go to Walt's for steak, but the last two times it's been so chewy)....

And the Golden Forest...are the characters you get in the separate dining room, the same as the ones you can meet in the hall?

And I have to second on Jack and Sally...we were there 2 weeks ago and they were simply amazing...glad to hear you found your phone!

Steak was perfectly cooked, came with fat chips too!! You can see the chefs cooking on the grill, real flames Great service and creme brulee on fire for dessert!

Characters were different to the ones on the main meet & greet area so you could see 4 before you leave the hotel in the morning.

We thought the same our last trip and like you, I'm hoping it was an off night . I will probably still go next visit [just for old times sake...and the decor ]. Silver Spur is also one of our favourites, and certainly my youngest son's all time fav...think we will definitely head back there next trip

That's such a pity! Mind you dd just reminded me that we put Blue Lagoon ahead of Walt's on our last trip!.....but Walt's was still good.

Only just seen this but welcome back! Glad you had an amazing holiday and got your phone back. Agree with you about Golden Forest, we're here now and really pleased with it. Envious that you got to meet Jack and Sally as we only saw Jack although he was great.
