Got home late last night after driving home from Ashford from our first trip during summer, we always go end of January beginning of February.
Start with highs.
Dreams, absolutely loved it, totally blew me away seeing it for real, even hubby was impressed and he thought I was talking rubbish when I have been on about it for months!
Fantillusion, first time we have ever seen it as not on when we usually go, was brilliant, loved the park in the dark whilst it was on.
Weather was perfect, if a bit hot at times, in February we had the -10 on our last day, this time nearer 24 degrees, we spent a lot of time in shady spots!
Ice cream, having ice cream to cool down, new Disney experience for us!
Salon Mickey, went in each day, second day they had ran out of cakes but told us to wait as they were fetching more.
Santa Fe, we love it here anyway, but first visit since the refurb and loved our room, block 24, view straight over the river and we could see space mountain. I'd even say I preferred this room to the one we had last time in the Disneyland hotel, it felt nicer and actually our view was better!
Eurostar, was a free trip after breaking down in February, wasn't fun at the time but meant we sneaked an extra trip in.
CE multivantages, very easy to change our passes, walked straight in, gave our details with passports and 5 minutes later 4 annual passes!
Castle looked great after seeing it partly boarded up and covered on last visit.
Walt's, always wanted to go so I booked before we went and it was lovely, if a bit slow with service. Had a view of Main Street for the parade and lots of characters were waving which was great.
Tarzan, wow, loved it, so very well done.
Met a CM who lives local to us, she was lovely and delighted to find someone so close to home!
Lows
People, it was so very busy, which we expected but it was just crazy at times. I got deliberatley walked in to by one man, i moved out his way and he moved back and bashed right in to me. Also as lots of standing around we noticed lots of unplesent smells and yes it was from humans.
Parades I've never seen so many people bagging spots and so early, 5.30 onwards for the 7pm and for Fantillusion people were sat on kerbs and surrounding grass areas from 8.30!
Toilets were grim, the ones on main street as walked in to park smelt vile and that was only from walking past them, only clean ones were in Salon Mickey and our hotel room.
CM who didn't know what the shareholders card was and said she couldn't take it, was too busy to wait so I left it.
Checking in at Santa Fe to be told no breakfast slots available, which actually didn't matter as we were not going to use it but that's not the point, we paid for that! We checked in at 2.30 after getting off train so not like it was late, although know it's peak season.
All in we had a great time, but won't be rushing back in August, we are definitely off peak people! Will definately stick to term time trips. Because it was so busy in the parks, worked out that we did the same amount of rides as we usually do in February but it took us longer each day and that was with fast passes and a disabled priority card. Most rides gave us times to go back which was fine, but some we got straight on, was surprised as got straight on Crush and thought that would have been one we would have had to go back for. In February the card worked differently but guessing that's as it's a quieter time, less people have them. Did see lots of people with them plus lots of people moaning about having to go back to rides, they wanted to get straight on.
