So we are back from our trip (and holiday afterwards) and had a fantastic time, I thought the main park looked great
Thanks for all the helpful advice. Here we go...
HIGHS
- Princess Pavilion - the girls met Snow White, Ariel (yay), Cinderella and Belle, with 3 of those being on the same day. All brilliant. The CMs in the PP are great, asking who you've already seen in order to send you to a different princess. One of them more or less confirmed that Anna and Elsa would be there at Christmas. Another CM had me in stitches as he didn't recognise DD's Anna coronation dress, saying it hadn't been on his chart
- Seeing the parade from Central Plaza and having the castle in the background of my pics! We usually watch it from Fantasyland as we don't like waiting around for hours but OH saved us a spot on the kerb while we sheltered from the rain. And then the sun came out for the parade
- Dreams! We had a great view as a lot of people left after a VERY heavy shower
- Stars 'n' Cars character interaction, especially with Aladdin and Pluto.
- Meeting Mickey and Woody in Toon Studios with virtually no queue.
- EMH on Saturday 16th. We did so much in those 2 hours.
- Lovely meal at Plaza Gardens with a view of the castle from our window.
- Riding Big Thunder Mountain with eldest DD (age 8) and her going on Star Tours for the first time, and DD2 (age 5) trying new rides that she's previously been too scared for!
- Driving to and from the parks. Somehow Disney have designed the car park such that there are never any delays. We got away quickly every day, no queuing at all
LOWS
- Ratatouille ride breaking down twice while we were in the queue. Lots of ironic cheers when it was up and running again. We arrived at the Studios at 9.30 and came off the ride at 12.30
It's a good ride but the motion made me feel a bit sick (I can just about cope with the teacups but know to avoid Crush for this reason) and youngest DD cried. DH was underwhelmed but DD1 loved it.
- Showery weather and constantly putting our macs on then removing them 5 minutes later.
- Queuing for 2 hours to meet Rapunzel. You think the queue looks quite short but it moves SO SLOWLY. We got talking to some other nice families though!
- Photopass+ not working properly yet. I could scan my ride photos and was then offered the chance to buy credit, but the 50 deal wasn't available and it wasn't possible to add photos from character meet and greets to my account within the app. Really disappointing. I asked in Flora's and the CM told me it should be up and running fully in September.
- Leaving and not knowing when we'll go back!!!
