More to follow once I get some rest and get stuff unpacked and put away -- but here are some highlights!
- It rained, and it rained, and it rained.
The only day we spent entirely dry all day was the day we left. And when it wasn't raining, it was 90 degrees with 100% humidity. Whew. After the jungle cruise, DD was asking about tropical rainforests, and she asked if Disney was in a tropical rain forest... too funny
I told her it was definitely a lot like one that particular week!
- At the Boneyard, on our 2nd or 3rd day, DD commented that this whole trip was 'just so much pretend fun!' We were just cracking up -- we weren't having REAL fun, mind you, just PRETEND fun
- The dining plan was fabulous, but WAAAAY too much food. We used up our TS credits by doing 2-credit meals, but even so we were nearly always so full from TS we didn't eat many snacks or CS. We went into the last day of our trip with a whopping 20 CS credits and 24 snack credits! We did manage to use them all up, but only by stuffing ourselves silly at lunch, feeding some other people as well, and then getting sandwiches for eating on the drive back and bringing home a load of nonperishable stuff which a very helpful CM helped us identify as acceptable options
We have about 2 dozen Mickey rice krispies treats to enjoy in lunchboxes for the next few weeks, and we got several of those great little lunchboxes with snacks inside, 2 for our kids and then extras for sharing with their best friends! I hadn't known that those could count as a CS entree option (each credit got us a box + drink, snack, and dessert!), so that worked out really, really well.
- DD lost her tooth at Disney, which was wonderfully exciting for her! But then our Mousekeeper mistakenly took the Disney Dollars the tooth fairy left, thinking they were a tip
(I'm going to get a friend to mail us some replacements, hopefully before DD realizes they're missing.)
- On the way into CRT, Cinderella was on her way in, and she took DD by the hand and escorted her down the steps, talking softly to her the entire way. DD was absolutely enchanted, and when Cinderella stopped by the table later, it was obviously completely magical for her. Later in the trip she saw Cinderella again and she very much seemed to remember DD, which had her almost giddy with delight. Then a friend wrote a lovely letter from Cinderella on special parchment paper and delivered it on the last day of our trip, along with a couple of special princess gifts. The letter talked about how much fun she had talking with her, and congratulated her on losing her tooth (said the Fairy Godmother had told her about it, and that there's a special window in her castle that all fairies can enter Disney through -- DD had been worried about whether the Tooth Fairy could get into Disney without getting into trouble, since she might not have a ticket!) DD is in heaven
- On the way out of CRT, we met the Fairy Godmother, but DS was afraid of her and wouldn't go to her, so she just talked with him a bit while I held him, and then gave him a high-five, which had him completely delighted. And then when we saw her in the parade that afternoon, she said "I remember you..." just as she went past us, and DD was convinced she said it just to HER -- but then she also caught sight of DS, winked at him, and threw him a high-five, so I'm *sure* she really did see and remember them. Definitely a highlight of the trip
That's all for now... more after I catch up
I took some pics of Expedition Everest in progress, if anyone is interested in that.
