I just had to share one of the highlights of our recent DLR trip. We were leaving DTD one evening to re-enter the park. The security gate we went through was manned by a very nice 60-something man. As we passed through, he smiled and said to my curly blonde 4 year old dd, "Goodbye, Princess!" and without missing a beat, she looked him dead in the eye and said "bye, John." Which was, indeed, the name on his tag. :rotfl: It was just so funny and unexpected, the adults just burst out laughing. She, of course, had no idea why this was so funny to us. :lovestruc Kids.

:rotfl2: Ours was from a cleaner in DTD who told our DD that is snowed in DL last night. When she saw the castle she dead pan told us - that man was right - it did snow at DL last night. She still tells everyone she has seen snow at Disneyland. It really is the little moments.

I am always extra friendly to the security workers at the checkpoints. I think they can be the ones with the most "magic" and they are always so kind. Cute story.

the tram talker used to talk and make funny jokes but i have yet to see them to it anymore...

this one guy was humming the pirates of the Caribbean theme song and when the drivers usually, Driver, your turn is clear, he was that while humming the song...

so like, yo ho yo ho driver your turn is cleeeear...

We had a Monorail pilot named Albert who was a blast. He started the ride with "And now a man who rarely gets an introduction, Mr. Voice..." then started the recorded messages.

As we came into Disneyland Albert came on with "I seem to have gotten lost, where are we Mr Voice?" at which point the announcer starts "You are now entering Tomorrowland..."

This banter continued for the entire ride, just so much fun. A little later I rode back to DTD in the back car and had the pleasure of being joined by Albert. We had a great chat, he is just an amazingly friendly cast member, something Disney should be proud of.
