Higher End TS Restaurants?

In looking at all the restaurants we have to choose from in the Dining Plan w/table service are there any restaurants we should stay away from just because I have small children? In the "real" world I would never dream of taking my 4 & 5 year to a fancy restaurant and drop $200 on a meal. Not only do I know they wouldn't understand and appreciate it but I certainly wouldn't want to, potentially, ruin any other "adults" night out. Basically, I do it out of respect for others and feel instead of spending alot of money on a kids meal I could instead take them to the zoo or hockey game or something else they'd enjoy more than $15 macaroni & cheese.

However...WDW is not the real world so I wondered what your thoughts are. If I choose to eat at Le Cellier, it's "free" to us but maybe not the couple at the other table. I'm wrestling with trying to be respectful but at the same time folks have got to realize WDW is mostly about children.

Let me add my kids are good kids...but still kids. They talk a little louder, laugh a little longer and certainly move around more than any adult. I don't want them to change a thing either.

Let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

There are plenty of kids at Le Cellier and most every other restaurant. Victoria & Albert's doesn't allow children under 10, I think, but that's the only such restriction. Certainly, some restaurants are by nature louder, but I've never taken my kids to any Disney restaurant where I felt they were out of place. Eat where you want to eat. :-)

My thoughts are that if you choose to holiday in Disney then you need to expect children to be there. If I wanted a romantic quiet dinner with no children (which I do from time to time) then I wouldn't go to a Disney theme park to do it!

I say go and enjoy yourself and have great food that you might not normally treat yourself to.

We took our then 2 year old and 5 year old to Le Cellier with no problems. There were lots of young kids there. With the exception of Victoria & Albert's, I would say any restaurant at WDW is pretty kid friendly.

Thanks you guys...that's kind of what I was thinking but certainly didn't want to be surprised and have my kids be the only gruesome twosome in the place.

We've taken our kids to pretty much every TS with the exception of Victoria & Alberts...and we've never had a problem. I would recommend a couple of things

Bring some entertainment (they have coloring but you know what will keep your children entertained the most).
Make a reservation on the earlier side (5/6PM) If people expect a more romantic adults type atmosphere (which would be weird to expect at WDW but) they are more likely to eat on the later side I would hope.

Enjoy!
