Not sure if I should post this here or on the Family board, but what can you tell me about the cleanliness of highchairs in WDW?
At home we bring one of those covers that also fit a shopping cart, but I certainly dont want to drag that down. Are they gross? What do you do?

When we used them LONG AGO.. they were clean. You could always request that they wipe it down beforehand :goodvibes

Also make sure you have on all of your ADR's that you need a highchair. They can be hard to come by and you should reserve one at each meal to be safe.

I bring travel packs of Clorox or Lysol wipes and just wipe the highchair down before putting the baby in it.

1) Most look clean.
2) But, you CANNOT sanitize the high chair materials - even with wipes
3) The materials are porous and even bleach won't do the job
. . . plastic
. . . wood
4) Totally up to you whether to use them or not.
5) Unfortunately, germs don't announce their presence.

NOTE: We have large interest in two restaurants. At both (one is a diner-type, an done is fine dining), there is a notice on the high chairs that we are not responsible for sanitizing.

We carry clorox wipes or the clorox anything spray with us. We wipe the chair and table whenever we go out. They are small so easy to carry around. good luck.

While I agree, they are usually not that clean (from what I've found in local restaurants), I don't think a lysol wipe would do that much, and it's just more to carry. I plan on doing what I do on the cart at the food store...use a baby wipe! You have them anyway. I feel it just gets off the surface germies and makes me feel better. Yeah, I get strange looks, but oh well. LOL

If you are really concerned, they have the smaller high chair covers that are not as bulky as the shopping cart ones. The high chair ones are more compact and can be folded into a little carrying case. It would fit easily in the basket or pocket of a stroller. That way you can still cover them if you feel you need to but it won't be huge to carry around. We have a friend whose baby had to have a transplant and with the meds she is on, germs are a BIG issue so they bring that everywhere with them.
