High Taxi Fare - due to construction by Poly

We were just at WDW and took a Taxi from the Poly back to All Star Sports. There was construction just past the Polynesian hotel and our taxi driver said he was going a different way because of the back up; otherwise, we would have a really long wait and high fare. He was right... the traffic was backed up!

I am wondering if the road construction just after the Poly is still there? I think it was only AFTER 9p.m. though.

Anyone know?

I'm not clear on what you mean by "just past the Poly". Which direction were you going when pulling out of the Poly, towards World Drive or back towards the Contemporary/Wilderness Lodge.

It was towards World Drive.

Hmm, interesting. I don't know what construction was going on along that stretch. I don't believe anything big is planned there so it was probably some repair work.
