High School Sports Booster Fundraising Ideas - need help!

A new up and coming Fundraising idea is to use TextNoMore to generate revenue and help support schools, activities and athletics. We are have signed up 6 local businesses in the last two days and receive roughly 30% of every ad we sell. It's a win/win/win for students, schools and the local businesses, as it's generating revenue, supporting local business and helping to save lives by spreading the message about the dangers of distracted driving (which we all know is a huge epidemic right now). I just hope my son listens!

I've taken the plunge to help my son's high school cross country team to help the parents club raise money for some out of state meets that our team will be participating in this fall. We need about $10,000 by mid-September

We have some good ideas - and are searching for some more ideas. Does anyone have any good fundraising ideas that you would be willing to share? Here's what we are doing so far:
Garage Sale
Spirit Nights at local restaurants (give us a % of the sales)
Community 5K
Apple picking (we get paid to pick apples!)
Raffle - boys will sell raffle tickets. We're looking for donations of items. So far have a Ipad3
High School 5K invitational - we make $ off t-shirt sales
Sub sale - usually held in conjuction with Super Bowl (so we raise $ to begin the next season)

What works well for your team? Any sports team fundraising ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Make sure you check your state gaming laws before you hold a raffle. Many states have very strict rules about who can run raffles. For instance, in our state, you need to be a registered 501c3 and you have to follow very strict guidelines down to how the raffle tickets need to be printed.
