High School Reunions

No, I still talk to my friends from high school. I don't need to go see the people I never liked. A lot of people stayed right in town so I bump into people from school every so often.

Didn't attend my last one (we were in Disney)... but DH insisted we go to our 20th (we graduated together)... which is this coming November... I really don't want to go... if I wanted to keep in touch with my classmates I would have ;)

My 35th will be in a year or so. I think the last one we went to was the 15th. Wasn't particularly fun. Probably won't go again.

Not only do I go to them, I plan them. We've had 3 since graduation. I've had a blast at everyone. We find that the people who stayed in our area don't usually come to the reunions, it's usually the people who live out of town that come back home, so I get to see the people I don't usually see.

I went to my 5th. Had a miserable time as it was in September and my allergies were REALLY bad! Never went to another. My 30th is this year and I'm not going.

I just went to our 20th. It was fun! I moved from the area (Ft. Lauderdale) when I got married at 22 and so I never ran into people. I kept in touch with only 2 friends. Even though I wasn't really close with a lot of the people in my class, we were all friendly and I was very interested in catching up and seeing what everyone was up to. About 1/3 of the class showed ( out of about 325). We had a wonderful time!! :grouphug:

Oh, I found that most of the people that came did still live in Florida. Many had moved to other areas of Florida, but stayed in the state. We were trying to find who came the greatest distance. Someone made the trek from California.

I went to elementary and middle school with many of these people. How can you not be curious? I didn't go to our 10th reunion, but would consider going to another sometime.

Oh, yeah! In fact, last FEbruary a bunch of us "girls" got together and went to Florida for a weekend of beaching and shopping. There were about 12 of us and I wasn't all that close to some of them, but by the time we were done we were all great friends. Can't wait--we meet again during Mardi Gras!

I just went to my 10th in August...it was a blast! I was really nervous about it at first, but it really turned out great!

I went to my 10 year HS reunion. I was only able to go to Friday evening get together, as I was scheduled to fly out of town the following day. The way I found out about the reunion was I was doing some web browsing and came up on my high school website which had announcements of the reunion plans. I still live in the same city where I graduated. I contacted the senior class president and she sent me the information.

I tell you though, the best thing about going to that reunion, besides seeing my old friends, was seeing those cute cheerleaders who had had children and everything had headed south! :lmao:

My 20 year reunion is next summer and I am supposed to be on the planning committee, in which case I need to contact the senior class president. She actually works at a local univeristy as the campus minister.

I went every 5 years until the 25th. At the 25th I realized that I had nothing to say to these people. Decided that if I wanted to stay in touch with anyone, I would have stayed in touch. So I don't go any more.

YES!!!!! Talk about an ego boost, right?? :lmao: :lmao:

I have gone to all 3 that my class has had, we skipped having the 15th year one. Our 20 year reunion was Aug 26th and we had a blast. It is very amusing to see who thought they were all that back in high school and the attitudes today. Some are still clicky, while others have brought their noses down out of the air. Several of the kids I graduated with, we went to school together from K to 12, so we have a great time recalling things from elementary school.

For DH, we haven't been to any of his. Their 5 year, we were in AL and his parents didn't forward us the info. The 10 year, the cost was out of this world and DH passed on going. They didn't do a 15 and we are waiting to find out about the 20th, which would be next year. I told him I would love to go to one of his.

I went to my 5th and 25th. They were ok but if I had wanted to keep in touch with people I would have. There were over 600 people in my class so when I went to reunion there were people there I never even met while in high school. My 35th is next month and I am not planning on going.

I went to the 10 and 15 and am planning on the 20th in November. I like to see what happened to everyone. I loved High school.

I skipped my 5th and 10th. I didn't care for those people in HS, why do I want to see them now? Plus the invitations read...

"Open Bar.
Dinner.
Open Bar.
Dancing.
Did we mention the open bar?"

Okay, so that's all it's good for, drinking? No thanks.

Next year is my 15th and I'll probably skip that, too. I might be persuaded to go to my 20th, but I don't know right now.

I'm local, and I always go to the first nights activity to catch up with people, and always enjoy it. By the second night, everyone has settled back into their cliques and high school behavior starts. No thanks!

Yes, I have always attended mine.

I'm not sure what to make of that cheerleader comment. Is it because they are cheerleaders and you have issues with them due to bad experiences? :confused3

Anyway, I graduated from a school in Hawaii and our class has a website, email group, and get togethers every month or so. I don't get to go back home as much as I would like so I like that we keep in contact. Also, we have had 4 deaths out of 300+ graduates in our class so I cherish the times we have together.
