Yes, it looks like this will be in MK.

Not sure of the timetable.

And, as always, you can never be SURE of anything until its nearly ready to go.

High School Musical to play at Disneyland and Disney World

This year's most popular Disney Channel movie, High School Musical, is about to find itself a part of Disney's theme parks; most likely California Adventure in Anaheim, CA and the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, FL. Auditions are underway and rehearsals are scheduled soon to stage High School Musical Pep Rallys with song and dance from the movie in both parks.

Here's what DisneyAuditions.com had to say.

Disney Entertainment Productions is holding an Open Call for male and female singers to star in an all new high-energy interactive celebration based on the smash-hit Disney Channel original movie, High School Musical. This show will be performed outdoors at Disney's California Adventure® Park. Performers of all ethnicities are encouraged to attend.

I walked through the Magic Kingdom on Saturday and saw tons of HSM merchandise flying off the shelves. Bringing this hit off the television and into the theme parks could be a great match. Let's just hope its staged somewhere appropriate (ie, not Fantasyland or Adventureland). Perhaps Main Street or Tomorrowland.

More as I find out about it.

New This Fall at Magic Kingdom: Five New Entertainment Offerings

New this fall at Magic Kingdom

High School Musical and the Woody and Jessie characters from the Toy Story movies will be joining sidewalk shows at Magic Kingdom this fall as part of Disney's Year of a Million Dreams campaign.

Walt Disney World is planning at least five new outdoor shows including four that will involve audience participation. Dates for the new shows' openings haven't been announced, but all are part of Year of a Million Dreams, which starts Oct. 1.

Disney now is holding in-house auditions for a "High School Musical Pep Rally," a "Royal Court Academy," a "Woody's Cowboy Camp," and a new, as-yet-unnamed castle show to replace Cinderellabration ...

Open auditions are slated for Thursday and Friday. Interested actors, dancers and singers can call Disney's audition hotline, 407-397-3299.

Disney also is planning a new morning parade along Main Street U.S.A. that's in addition to the more traditional afternoon parade throughout Magic Kingdom.

"Somebody's dream might have been to be in a Disney parade. They'll have that chance," said Rich Taylor, Walt Disney World vice president of entertainment and costuming.

The pep rally, capitalizing on the popular show on the Disney Channel, will give people a chance to join in cheers, songs and dancing from High School Musical. Woody's Cowboy Camp features a hoedown at Frontierland. Royal Court Academy will give visitors ... a chance to learn the etiquette of meeting with royalty.
