I had heard a rumor that there was going to be a show centered around High School Musical. I heard that it would be in MK and would start in October. Can anyone confirm this?

I had a DD who loves the DVD. She knows all the words to all the songs. We are going the first week in Oct. and it will be her first trip to WDW. She would be on :cloud9: if there was a show about her favorite movie.

A HSM show of some sort is rumored to debut at Galaxy Palace Theater in TL sometime in October. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

What is High School Musical?

vonpluto - where did you hear about the rumor? I saw this on another thread, but wasn't sure where people heard this. This would be so cool. Like many moms, I have seen HSM so many times that i could act out the whole show myself.

Where is the Galaxy Palace Theater? We will definitely check it out when we are there. Like ArielSleepingBeauty, I have the whole soundtrack memorized. :rotfl:

HSM is a child's version of Grease, IMO. It has very catchy tunes, dancing, and the underdogs win in the end. Typical high school movie.

My DD 8 knows every word and dance move to every song.

Hopefully Galaxy Palace Theater is easy to find. :) I haven't been to WDW since 1997. I know things change around a lot. DD will have a great time regardless because it will be her first trip. :cheer2:

:scared: I came across it on one of those other dreaded boards :scared1:

Galaxy Palace (formerly Tomorrowland Theater) is all the way in the back of TL. Check the MK map here:

It's #46 in TL :thumbsup2

Thanks. I remember that theater now. We will definitely be checking it out. :thumbsup2

I personally will be trying like hell to make sure my girls DON''T find out about this show!! If I hear or see it once more my head will explode!

I hope that it will be going on in May 2007 when we go. My girls love that movie. Although i am tired of seeing and hearing it, I have to admit that it is a movie that i don't mind them watching. It has a good feeling to it. It sends a good message, there is no violence, no bad catch phrases, no sexual content. It is a nice movie.

I think it is a great movie---can't quit singing the songs myself!! My daughter would love this. I am looking forward to hearing more about it. Hopefully it will be ready by the time we go in January!! Thanks for the heads up!

I second your opinion! It is a good show and because of that I can hardly believe how many kids think it's "cool". :thumbsup2 We're going in Nov. and I think I'm going to surprise my girls with this one!

A little off topic but FYI, we were at Kohl's yesterday and they had the High School MuSical T-shirts for 40% off.

Good question....it would seem MGM would be more appropriate.. But it is likely just that they have the stage available to do it there.

My DD is 12 and she loves HSM as well. In fact, she loves the Disney Channel all the way around! All her friends do as well....I've been expecting Disney to further capitalize on the pre-teen girl market they have completely won over with the Disney Chanel.

Get your head in the game!!! That is my favorite song!!!....Oh this would be awesome..my daughter almost 9 and son 6 love hsm!!!

I have been to WDW several times and have never been to a show at Galaxy Palace. What other shows have been there? I don't think I would even know how to get to it! Thats bad. :confused3

Know nothing about WDW, but the following appeared on Mouseplanet's update for DIsneyland:

...A new piece of street entertainment will be coming to DCA next month (probably beginning October 2) called "High School Musical Pep Rally." The details on what exactly this will be aren't clear. Though some rumors suggest it will replace Block Party Bash as DCA's Main Parade, this almost certainly isn't correct. Whatever it is, it will involve some kind of caravan moving along the parade route playing the popular songs from the Disney Channel's smash hit kid's movie High School Musical. Apparently the audience will be able to sing and dance along. Perhaps it will be a Rocky Horror Picture Show for tweeners. Since many of the dancers used for this show also perform in the Block Party Bash parade, it helps explain why, beginning September 8, a slimmed-down version of the parade will begin performing.
