High School Musical question...

I tried to do a search for HSM, but "website not responding" was all I got...So, sorry if this has been asked and answered!

My kids and I love High School Musical and have a few questions...

WHO is Zach Efron...I mean, this kid is great! Where did he come from?

DO the four main characters really sing...is it their voices? It looks like it, except sometimes Gabrielle looks a little fake. We have the CD and love it!

I think this movies sends such a great message! The clique thing is so true...DH and I are both teachers, Jr. Hi and H.S. respectively. I so wish our music dept. got more support. I loved being in the musical when I was in H.S.! With that said, WHEN is the DVD coming out? I thought it was in April, but haven't heard or seen anything lately.

I heard the movie is coming our towards the end of May. According to deepdiscountdvd.com the release date is 5/23/06. We are also anxiously awaiting the sequel to The Cheetah girls which I heard was in the fall.
