Hello,

My brother is coming at the beginning of October and we are heading out to Disneyland as, together, we have only been to Disneyworld when he was 4 and I was 7.
Anyway, I am trying to find options that are low carbohydrate and high protein for myself as I have a condition that requires this diet. I have never been to Disneyland before while having these requirements. The only things I can think of at the moment is Bengal BBQ meat and asparagus, the fruit and pickle carts (even though I can't eat some of those fruits), and someone else suggested the turkey legs.

Do you have any other suggestions? I'm looking for on the go and restaurant ideas for all meals at Magic Kingdom and CA. Thanks!

P.S. This is cross-posted in the DISabilites forum.

The fried chicken at plaza inn is probably fairly low if you get veggie instead of potatoes on the side.

Table service will usually have options that may or may not require substitutions, for instance you can get a few different entrees at blue bayou if you substitute more veggies instead of the carb-heavy sides. Even Cafe Orleans, which is noteable for their carby options like pomme frites and beignets, has a ragout that you could add blackened chicken too and get it without the corn cake. I'm sure table service restaurants will be more than happy to work with your dietary restrictions (and have probably heard the same restrictions before and have an idea what to do).

For quick service, Bengal barbecue is definitely a good option. Their pork belly skewer they have seasonally right now is fabulous (and filling because of the higher fat ratio). The skewers are small, but one meat one and one veggie one are great to get rid of hunger pangs. Be sure to avoid the sugary sauces some come with though!

Along the same lines, pretty much all counter service options offer at least one salad option. You WOULD have to pay attention to be sure that the particular salad doesn't have any super carb-heavy toppings like candied nuts, but you could probably ask for them without. Definitely beware some of the sugary dressings though: usually when using pre-packaged dressings I find Caesar and ranch are a safer, lower carb bet. Too many vinaigrettes have a lot of hidden sugars, but you should also be able to ask about nutritional information. There's also the old standby of a burger with no bun.

You can also get a couple entrees from Rancho del Zocalo that are basically meat, just don't get the sides or ask if they have anything you can sub out.

Basically if you ask, you should be in pretty good shape at any fill sized quick service or table service location. The stalls might be a little more hit and miss, and can't do the modifications that larger locations can.
