High efficiency washer question

Our HE washer has suddenly stopped draining properly. I ran the load that was in it a second time to see if maybe it had something to do with the placement of the clothes, but it did the same thing. The clothing on the top of the pile was drained, but I had to wring out by hand the clothing on the bottom. My husband looked at it, but can't figure out what's wrong. The washer is only four years old, so I don't think it has to do with age. Before I call GE and set up an overpriced service call, I thought I'd post on here to find out if anyone has experienced this and if you were able to fix it yourself. Thanks for your help.

We have a whirlpool washer and had the same problem. Thank goodness mine was under warranty. After 7, yes I typed it right, 7 service calls, they finally replaced it.

At that point, I was told that it was really a design flaw in the computer system.

Check the drain hose and the pump to make sure there are no obstructions. I had an ankle sock get stuck in a pump once.

You can use YouTube to search your machine and tutorials on how to fix.

We had the same thing happen earlier this year, and of course, after 4 years, it's not under warranty. First service call the repair man cleaned out the drain pump. DH had cleaned out all the lines/hoses before he came. Repair guy ran 2 cycles and it seemed to be working. He left, oldest son ran a load, I ran a load, the washer quits. Bearings went out. Repair guy has the same Whirlpool front loader at home and his has the same issue with bearings. We'd always had problems with vibrations, technicians were out 2x while it was still under warranty. Whirlpool offered us half off the bearings and shipping. Repair guy said it would still be cheaper for us to buy new, then to pay him to put the parts in. This time I bought a HE top-loader!
