Just wondering if anyone (I know it's a long shot!) has ran that 1/2 marathon?

I've almost decided this will be my first half marathon for a few reasons:
a) It's cheap(er) than Disney ($45 vs 120+)
b) more generous time limit (20 min miles vs Disney's 16) though I'm currently running 12-13 miles so not too worried
c) It's my home turf so will have a good cheering section (if they get up that early ;)
d) It's sooner than the DLR 1/2 (June 11/12)

But I'm not sure how running at a much higher altitude will affect me vs basic sea level (Orlando)

I've never run it, but it looks like a good race. It's mostly downhill, and it's the only race I've seen with a sweat drop in the middle (at mile 4).

Altitude does make a difference! That's why I like running at sea level after training up here. I would say adding an extra mile or two to your long training runs and/or keep your pace to a bit slower than normal. Also it will probably be a good idea to get there a few days ahead of time to make sure you're adjusted before you run. And rememeber to stay hydrated! It's dry up here!

Good luck!:thumbsup2
