Hi -
We'll be staying at HIFS in July. Just bought a GC off of Ebay for the Club Car. Can anyone tell me about the seafood buffet? I am not expecting fine cuisine - but just wondering what it consists of and how you rate it.

Also, are there any other area seafood buffets you think are worth the price?

Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!

:D :D :D

I can't speak for the seafood buffet, but the last time we were there (2002) the food was mediocre at best.

We aren't planning on eating there more than once this trip. The food is typical buffet fare, certainly nothing fabulous. Edible yes, Fabulous no.

Hopefully someone can comment on the seafood buffet quality.

Yuck!!
Seriously. The seafood buffet, along with the regular buffet, was lousy. Kind of a warmed over, school cafeteria quality. How much did you pay for the GC? If $5 or less, you got a good deal.
That said, we LOVE HIFS! Just hate the restaurant!

MrsMud - paid $8 for the GC, not too bad. Was there a pasta dish? I am happy with shrimp over noodles! Or was it more like Mrs. Paul's fish sticks and popcorn shrimp? You know, overly breaded and tasting like grease?? Maybe we will skip the buffet and just order off the menu!

sweettooth~ Our last trip we ate buffet and off the menu. Same quality. :(

I should say we are eating there once this upcoming trip, but only because of the restaurant.com g.c. We can stomach it once, but that's about it.

I wish the Club Car had better food, maybe that will come with the renovations. :)

Yep, that's about it! I don't know about greasy, but definitely a frozen and then heated (and sometimes reheated) quality. I am surprised that such a great and popular hotel has not paid more attention to the quality of food in its restaurant. I guess it all comes down to money. I would rather see them improve the restaurant and drop the kids eat free (not the free breakfast, though, that's a life saver)! I imagine there will be some sort of changes (hopefully for the better) when Nickolodeon gets in there.
