Was wondering if anyone has any tips on dealing with this?

Ive been dealing with this and Pilonidial cysts, my dermatolgist has given me a 4% peroxide wash and Clindamycin solution. They say there isnt much you can do, but I thought maybe others have some tips that have worked for them.

Hi... I did a little research on what you are dealing with as I truly did not know what it was. I do know about Pilonidial cysts as we have friends who have gone through surgery for them. Please know that you can come here and talk and hopefully someone may check in that may have more experience with what you are dealing with...

Hugs...

Thanks Mackey Mouse! Its not a fun condition to deal with, although mine isnt nearly as bad as others have. They have found that most people who have HS, have a link to pilonidial cysts. I have had surgery on mine and thank goodness (knocking on wood) havent had another.

The HS is something that many dont talk about, because they feel its a 'dirty' condition, which it has nothing to do with hygeine. I thought maybe on this board if others have it, and someone else came out and said they have it, they wouldnt feel as bad and have someone else to talk with about it.

I've delt with Pilonidial cysts in the past and the only thing that worked for me was to have it surgically removed. I haven't had symptoms since.

I also had mine surgically removed (not much fun was it?) Thank god I havent had another one - as I said if it did come back I would be hesitant to have the surgery again.

HS is different from Pilonidial Cysts, although there seems to be a link between the two.
