Hidden Time Losses When Using a Car At DLR

I've both walked and driven to DL and frankly can't remember much difference.

The only difference I do remember is how long the walk to my hotel seemed after a day of wandering around DL... and I stayed at Park Place.

I fully agree! Our very recent visit, 6/16 was the first time we hadn't stayed within walking distance; many visits back we'd spent a couple visits a bit away but those hotels were part of ART, or had their own shuttle.
Last month our visit took place at the same time as a huge YouTube convention at the con center. Hotels were difficult to come by *I planned this trip on a Tuesday, we drove to Vegas on Wednesday, were in the parks Thursday through Saturday - we ended up at the Best Budget Inn :/
We were in Anaheim, far from the parks; I misread 15 minute drive for 15 minute walk in a review I saw, we started walking when we first arrived; my boys phone's GPS said we had a two hour walk! We had our first uber then; there and back were $10 each, the next two days I drove us to the Toy Story lot and paid the $17 to park there. The time wasted was horrible; good thing I know how to do the parks.
Never again will I make the mistake of staying more than a 15 minute walk from the parks.
