My two boys (ages 8 & 9) are really looking forward to searching for Hidden Mickeys when we go to WDW next week! Are they hard to find? Are they everywhere? What do we look for?

MOMOFTHREE,
We will be there the same time and will be looking for HM's also. We purchased a book entitled Hidden Mickey's from our local Border's bookstore. It give clues and hints to almost 400 HM's. It is broke down into parks, and sections within the park. I believe the cost was 11.99. Also, check out the website www.disneyworldtrivia.com and you will find info from the author of the book there.

Where are you staying? AKL has a hidden Mickey hunt around the hotel. Just ask for the paper at the front desk with the clues on it. When you find them all, take your paper to the gift shop and they give you a cute certificate for completing it. We spent a good hour or two doing this on our slast day there.

The wilderness lodge does the same thing i believe... and i love that hidden mickey book its one of my "must bring with me" items that gets packed first i still havent found them all though i dont bend over backwards to search them out.... its really a lot of fun to do!

Some of them are easy to find even if you don't know there is one specifically there (check out the left hand door of the shop next to the stage at Morocco). Others are hard to find, even if you know exactly where they are at (check out the border half way down one of the buildings in the toy train outside Germany. The hidden Mickey head is upside down. You can see it from the walk way side).

I think the guide book is cool, but sometimes it's more fun to look for them yourself without assistance. It makes it more satisfying when you do find one!

My 12yo loves the Hidden Mickey book. It is set up so you can either do a scavenger hunt or they will tell you exactly how to find them. You can do the hidden mickey hunt at AKL even if you are not staying there. Let me tell you that it is hard! We wouldn't have found one of them at all without the book.
