In the scene where Merlin is standing in front of his house there is a hidden Mickey in the stone work behind him. It is 3 swirls in the stone and if you look just behind Merlin it is clear as day.

Anybody else notice this, or any other hidden Mickeys in the movie?

A hidden Mickey in a movie made by one of Disney's biggest competitors?

YES!! my dd 7 yelled "look mom a mickey mouse head!" so yes we did see it..:thumbsup2 DD 16 tells me some of the "shrek" people were "disney people" at one time in their lives.. DD 16 went w her friends again and sure enough.. plain as day..

savingup for the world in 08... sigh... it's going to be a looong year.....

I saw it and thought, wait this isn't a Disney movie?! So then I thought maybe I didn't see it. Glad to know, I wasn't seeing things.

I thought there was a hidden Mickey in all Shrek movies? I always considered there to be one in the bird's nest where there are three eggs and they break (if I am remembering correctly)--it seemed sorta a spoof on Snow White and then you see the eggs as she is singing or something (this is Shrek 1).

Darn-we just saw the movie. We will have to wait to see the hidden mickey once it comes out on video.

You bet there are Hidden Mickeys and other Disney references in the Shrek movies!

Shrek 1 had Disney References all through it......Duloc is WDW. As they get close to the castle you see a parking lot sign that reads " You are parked in Lancelot" with a picture of a knight on a horse. At the entrance to the castle is a sign that says " Your wait time from this point is....." The singing dolls are supposed to be Small World. Then later in the movie is the hidden mickey in the eggs that are frying.

I know that Shrek 2 had numerous Disney references as well, but I only saw it twice and didn't have a chance to notice most of them. There were many other references to other things like Starbucks, Saks Fifth Ave and such that were much mroe obvious.

In Shrek 3 there was the hidden mickey, the portrayals of the princesses, and the Queen who started singing "Spoonful of Sugar" after banging her head into the wall. Also, the stage show that Charming was in had references to lots of the Disney musicals in it....listen closely to the music that starts playing...it is the opening theme of Beauty and the Beast on Broadway. The clam shell that the comes up out of looks suspiciously like something that Ariel would arrive in. I am sure that there are others, I would need to see the movie again to be sure.

actually the queen is played by Julia Andrews and she sang "my favorite things" from Sound of Music....

its my favorite part of the movie! ( that and when they are doing the One choregraphy from Chorus LIne!

Thanks for correcting me on the music. Lisa and I knew it was something that she sang in a movie and it was so quick that we both thought it was "Spoonful of Sugar". It is just too funny that the writers are including all these little things, like having Julie Andrews, who plays the queen, sing something from one of her former movies......it gives us adults something to giggle about during the movie.

We thought that the writers would have thrown in Justin's Cry Me a River somewhere when he was having his hissy fit.
