Ok I know everyone loves Le Celier and Cinderella's Royal Table Dinner is not to be missed, but I wanna hear about the lesser known restaurant gems-the ones that get very little attention. Our next big trip, september, I wanna go to lesser know places like Maya Grill at CSR or maybe Captains Grill at YC...anyone have a not-so-popular know fav. and why?? Thanks!

we love raglan road in dtd! i love the restaurant and the food was great! we were also impressed w/the wave @ the contemporary. i had steak @ both restaurants.

I would raise my glass to "Boma". Now, I know this is not so original for Disney veterans, but for people reading who are new to the World, you might not know about this one located inside Animal Kingdom Lodge serving authentic African food buffet style.

We had dinner at Capt Grill, it was great! Our new fave is the Wave...OMG this place is incredible. GFC is great too and never busy.

Captain's Grill had the best lobster roll for lunch!!!

Jiko's & Yachtsman Steakhouse are 2 of our favorites.
Y&Y is a nice change.....

We are a minority with Le Cellier, don't like it at all.

Have a great time!

My hidden gem used to be Kona, but that one isn't really "hidden" anymore.

My choice now would have to be Olivia's.

The Plaza at the MK still seems unknown to a lot of people and is our must-do last lunch of the trip

Not a sit-down place....but we used to always eat at Kona Cafe at the Poly for the Tonga Toast. On our last trip, we found out that the quick-service place - Capt Cook's or something like that - has the same Tonga Toast but you can use a quick-service to get it! :thumbsup2

promoting Biergarten because some day I may have trouble getting in. (I actually tried walking up for dinner right after Epcot opened. It's not nearly as hard now.) Good food and a lot of fun.

I would try The Turf Club at Saratoga Springs. I ate there when I stayed there last year and really enjoyed it. I don't believe a whole lot of people know about it. You can get a drink in the lounge outside of the restaurant while you are waiting to be seated. There is a pool table, a TV, couches, tables and I believe Jockey silks on the walls (to go along with the horse racing theme). There is also outdoor seating. Inside the restaurant the lighting is dim, which was very nice. I had lamb that was delicious. I don't remember the rest of the menu but the other four people in my party enjoyed their meals very much as well. I would love to go back. If you aren't staying at Saratoga or don't have a car, I would take a ferry from Downtown Disney to Saratoga Springs.

My Dad and my DH took our kiddies to Captain's Grill last September (mom, me & my sister had a "night out") and I'm still hearing about how wonderful it was. So, Captain's Grill is on our "to do" list for December.

I also love Biergarten. Boma was okay, but I also like Shutters at CBR and Yak & Yeti at the AK is fantastic.

Enjoy!:goodvibes

Captain's Grille for breakfast. We stumbled upon this by accident while staying at the BWV a few years ago. They have full breakfast menu or buffet. In three stays it has never been crowded, and we were able to get last minute ADRs or walk-up.

my family ate at captain's grille this past sept. we had a long day, and had adr for a buffet that night. no one in my family was up to it, so we asked concierge for a recommendation. they not only raved about captains grille, but were able to get a ressie for 6, sooner than we had. all of us had a wonderful meal, the service was tha best of all our trip, and we are going back this year.

Ours would have to be Tangierine Cafe in Morocco. The Shawarma Platter is to die for! DH and I shared it twice last month and have made plans to have it again in October.

If you're not using the Disney Dining Plan, I'd like to suggest going over to Trail's End at Ft. Wilderness... it's just a boat ride away from the MK. It's the least expensive buffet on Disney property, and they've got a nice variety, which is helpful when you have picky eaters in your group. It really is the best value if you're paying OOP. It's not as elaborate as other buffets on property, but it's still quite good.

If you're using DDP, then I say make the most of it and try other places that people are mentioning here.

Another hidden hot spot is the Cabana Pool bar at the Dolphin. Great food, great drinks, and great atmosphere.

Glad to see this...We are going for our first time this July when we are staying at SSR...You said the lightening is dim...Is it not good for small children?
