hi new to disney ? about camping

we are going july 09 we will have 9 people youngest will be 9 oldest child will be 16 plus 4 adults i was wondering how far are the showers and things from most of the sites and is there some taht are really far i want to know if we should bring our bikes and which park will be best for to visit we will only have two days in the park thanks

I think there is a 10 person limit for the campsites and that might make you have to get two and WDW can't guarantee adjacent sites IIRC, so you might want to check what the actual number limits are for each site. If you can get 13 bikes there that's a great option for getting around FW.

Magic Kingdom & Hollywood Studios. IMO. Comfort stations are not that far.
Bikes would be nice to have for the pool, campfire, trading post etc. but not necessary.

my 2 cents....and it all depends on what your group is into...our family choice would be Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom...if you are looking for a learning experience to be included Epcot might be the 2nd day choice....enjoy!!!

depends on what time of year...if you are going in the summer or early fall, don't do AK, too hot

oh and one other thing my dad has a bad back and can't walk far or for long is the showers and stuff a hike or for the most part are then ok to walk too also should we rent some kind of motorized wheel chair of some sort or do they have those thanks

If I only had two days(oh the HORROR!!!!! ) I would NOT park hop(wastes too much time unless the park is open REALLY LATE!) and I would go to AK on the first day and MK on the last. AK is great for a family with a wide age range in kids. Everyone can enjoy most every area in the park. There are alot of great shows and cool places to hang out for the ones who won't ride the big rides.

If you don't enjoy animals so much, I would do Epcot the first day. We love Epcot, just not many rides and ALOT of walking. My kids(8 & 13) could spend all day in Innoventions just racing and making robots! They don't like the World except to shop. The seas are neat but we have an aquarium near home and the land...well, we live on a farm so .

My kids chose MK and AK with the oldest saying maybe HS just for the thrill rides. Any park will be great, it IS Disney afterall!

For teens, I would go to Hollywood Studios. The RnR and ToT are perfect for them and not to be missed. The RnR is the best roller coaster we have ridden anywhere. At HS there is not as much to do, so if you wanted to park hop I would spend park of my day here and then go to Epcot to ride MS and Soarin and have a great dinner! Plan according to the park hours and EMH schedules to make to most of your time. I am soooo much a planner and probably give too much info.

You can rent Elec. carts and regular wheelchairs in the parks. It is not too expensive for the regular wheelchairs, but we have seen people in the campground rent Elec. carts from off-site companies so they must be expensive. If you need one, I wouldn't worry about the cost. Just plan your budget out.

The most spread out park is Epcot, so if you don't park hop and only have 2 parks to choose from, I would leave it out. Have fun planning! I love to plan a vacation, especially at Disney!

HS is MGM, they were changing everything when we were there in January so I have a hard time with the HS thing!

I would do MK, DHS and if a third day Epcot. The bath houses aren't too far. You could also rent a wheelchair at a local place and bring it with you to WDW and save $. Ask to be noted on your reservations close to comfort station because of health reasons.

If you can only do 2 parks, my teens voted for Magic Kingdom and Epcot!

When you make reservation ask to be close to a comfort station and maybe the loop entrance and mention it again when you check in. I think the comfort stations are pretty close to the entrance and the bus stop.

I would do MK and Hollywood Studios (aka MGM). I think those two parks would be best considering the age ranges.

It depends on how long you're actually going to be spending in the campground. If you'll be spending a full day or more (or maybe 1/2 day), I'd suggest bringing your bikes, but other than that, it's probably not worth the hassle of bringing them. I've only had a bike on one trip (the last one), and even at that, I didn't ride it that much.
