Hi everyone - long-time lurker, 1st time poster. I have gone to Disney World regularly since I was young. Let's see if I can date myself - I remember when Space Mountain was being built and was the "new thing", MK was the only park, and if you wanted an alternative you went to Busch Gardens. OMG - I'm old.

My DS is 6 and the last time we went he was 4. For anyone who thinks 4 is too young for Disney, think again. He hasn't stopped talking about it since we went last time. He remembers EVERYTHING! That's my boy... a Disney addict in the making. :lmao:

Anyway, we are going from 11/27 to 12/1. We have been planning this trip for 10 months and my DS doesn't know we are going. We are going to get him up on Tues. as if he was going to school, and tell him we don't feel like going to work so why don't we just go to Disney! I've been dying to tell him... I can't wait to see the look on his face. :thumbsup2

So far, this Board has been the best source of information I have found anywhere about Disney. I appreciate everyone sharing their info. - a little Disney magic without having to be at Disney. :wizard:

We've made an agreement this time to approach everything non-Commando style. No sense in making ourselves exhausted. I am going to have a sketchy plan and I'm hoping that being the Thanksgiving holiday will be over, things won't be as crowded. :confused3 Just the fact that we are going is a good thing....

:welcome: to DIS!!! Wow! 4 days to go! I don't see how you kept it from him that long! He will be so excited when he gets that wake up call! Hope you have a great trip!!

Wow, that is such a fantastic surprise and one he'll remember for the rest of his life! (I wish someone would do the same for me...)

Hope you have a great time!

Welcome! You're going to have such a magical trip! I'm excited for you!:goodvibes

:welcome:
I know how hard it is to keep a disney suprise from our DS....I can't stand it. I hope you have a great time!

:welcome:

We too, took our youngest DD at age 4. She is always talking about what she did on that trip. She asks me everyday if we are going back to Pop Century tomorrow. Hope you have a wonderful trip.

Finally another Cape Codder. Welcome to the board! No one is too old or too young for Disney. Hope you have a great trip and I'm sure that your DS will have an awesome time.

Where on the Cape are you? We're in Orleans.

Welcome and have a great trip! Next to Disney the Cape is my favorite place. We only get to go every couple of years.

Thanks everyone for being so welcoming! Pirates4me, I'm in Brewster - you're next door neighbor (well, practically) :)

Day after tomorrow and we will be on our way --- ooooooooo I'm SOOOOOO excited! The reason we haven't told my DS is because we didn't want to hear about it everyday for 10 months. It's better this way. I'm hoping he'll remember what a great things his parents did for him when he is a teenager and hates us! :rotfl2:

Well, back to reading trip reports.... some people are gifted writers on this board.... I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.:lmao:

My DD is 16 (17 in feb) DS 9 (10 in Jan), first trip was w/ DD at 4yrs. still after all these years one of the best! Great age and what they don't remember in older yrs. just gives them the taste of enjoying Disney and believe me it Stays! My DD and DS still look forward to it, they are not jaded. I'm sure you have seen the Dis merchandise 'BEEN THERE, SEEN THAT, GOING BACK', well thankful after all these yrs. my DC's feel they still want to do the last part:thumbsup2. Enjoy, it will be the time of your lives:dance3:

Oh I almost forgot :welcome: to the dis boards!

We here in Orleans hope that you have a truly magical trip and can't wait to hear about it. We have become very friendly with a waitress at the H & K that is a total Disney nut like us. We have friends from Vermont down there right now and we get daily updates from her. This is her 3 year old DS first trip. Again have a great time.

Where on the Cape are you? We're in Orleans.

I spent many a happy summer in Orleans at my grandparents' cottage, down the road from Rock Harbour and still have family down there. We could be related!

I don't suppose they still have that old fashioned fudge/penny candy shop with the player piano? That was a LONG time ago!

:welcome:

I can't believe how much willpower you have!! I get so excited, it's really hard not to spill. I am really proud of myself...I haven't told the DGDs they are going to PPP. I know that may be a small thing for some, but it's monumental for me.

Hope everything is exactly as you have wished it to be!
