Firstly can I just say what a fab site this is? I had loads of questions about the holiday I have booked for 7nights in July and have found the answers to most of them already!

I am still looking for a little help with the following however:

1) Is there a list of all rides anywhere and the height restrictions that apply? My 2 LO's will be 3 and nearly 5 so I am hoping they can go on most things!?!

2) We are staying at the Santa Fe, do you definately get towels for the whole family (bath and hand towels) as there is no mention of this anywhere in the brochures and the travel agent said you dont get them! It would be great if you do as I would take a suitcase full otherwise LOL! :rotfl:

3) Is 7 nights too long? Am wondering what else to do as most people seem to only go 3/4 nights and get everything done in that time. Where could we go that isnt too expensive? We have free Sea Life Tickets, is it any good there?

4) Lastly, is 14 July French holiday as am worrying about travelling then incase airport strikes etc!?! We didnt know this when we booked?? :scared:

Hope you kind people can help! Thanks.

1) The disneylandparis site has info on height restrictions (I think?) I would look there for info on that (others may be able to help more as I don't have kids so it is not something I have looked up.)
2) Not sure, sorry! I have never stayed there.
3) I have been to DLP for 7 nights before, we spent around 4 or 5 days (or part days) in the parks and the rest we went into Paris itself (an easy journey on the RER, the station is in DTD and it is a quick trip.) There is a lot to do and see in Paris.
4) 14th July is Bastille day so is a French holiday (and my birthday!!) I doubt there would be airport strikes, but as it is a national holiday things in the city might be shut. However DLP will be open as usual so I would plan a park day.

Hi MrsWilliams,
Have a look here for height restrictions, new rides aren't on there so there must be a more upt to date version somewhere but TOT and Crush are probably not suitable for your little ones anyway.

Yes you will definately have enough towels at the Santa Fe and if you do need more you can request them.

7 nights means you'll definately have enough time to do everything and at your own pace, we've been for 6 days (3rd visit) and I bought Sea Life tickets beforehand but we didn't manage to get there, similarly we've never managed to make it to a swimming pool, but we like to spend as much time as possible in the parks, my DS's are older, I'm sure with Sea LIfe and the Val d'Europe centre you'll find plenty to fill up your time.

14th July as previously mentioned is Bastille Day and the parks will be busy, on the plus side, there are usually fireworks in the park that day, but it sounds like you're travelling that day, I don't think that you can expect more strikes than usual in France on that day in particular.

Have fun :goodvibes

Hi MrsWilliams, welcome to the disboards!

lucky you - 7 whole days? fantastic! As others have said, this will give you plenty of time to explore the whole resort, and maybe visit Paris, Provins, and definitely go to SeaLife & the Val d'Europ centre too.

We have travelled to DLP on the 14th July, the airport was fine and the park was running as normal, but I do think that in Paris and throughout France, shops and services will be closed.

Santa Fe is a really good and basic hotel, there should be no problem with towels, you simply put the dirty ones in the bath before you leave your room and they will be replaced with clean ones for you :) and as someone has said, more can be requested if required :)

Thank you all so much for your help! I am sooo pleased we get towels as that means more room in the suitcase for goodies!

I cant decide whether to go half board plus or not (£340 ish I think)? Some of the food prices I have seen look scary and have visions of spending £100 per day on food!!

Also do you have to pay to use the on resort Cinema?

Finally.....

I see there is a tethered balloon with views of the park that costs extra and also lake pedaloes or some kind of boat ride are these expensive?

Thanks!

as far as i know, the panoramagique balloon is 12 euros for an adult, not sure for children, i'm planning on trying it out next week ^_^

i've not went half board before, but i'm sure someone on the boards who has can give advice.

£100 - no way! Here's some good tips I use ^_^

- Eat lots and stock up at breakfast - we normally take ham and jam (not on the one roll!) rolls to have at lunch, with a little pain au chocolat for dessert! And if we are still hungry, we can get a children's meal for 6 euros with fries, burger hot dog or chicken nuggets, a dessert and a toy!

for dinner, we are going to try eat in val d'europ, as the restaurants from what i have heard are much cheaper. but for yourself and your little ones, i would say to eat in, for example, annettes diner for dinner, would cost hopefully around 45-80euros, dependent on what you choose to eat of course, but i cant imagine your kids eating loads, but of course if you want some drinks, desserts and starters, it will be more costly.

and yes, unfortunately the gaumont does charge, i think english films are shown on a thursday , this may have change.d

Thanks Wendybird7 you've made me feel a bit better about the food situation, phew, panic over!! :)

Am I right in thinking there is a FREE bus or something to Val D'Europe?

Also a couple little niggly questions...

1) I read there are ice machines or water fountains on site, presumably this water/ice is ok to drink and we wont get tummy bugs???

2) Does anyone know how much it costs for kettle/hairdryer hire at Santa Fe? Can you also hire fans or mini fridges?

Sorry, just trying to get to twenty questions! LOL!

Hi there,

Regarding the water. the bus company I'm travelling with has suggested that
one buy bottlled water if one is not used to the water of France. It's still
drinkable, though.

Water is different from country to country. So, as a precaution, one should
drink bottled water, as a rule, I think.

I'm keeping in mind that I live in Sweden, which has high standards.

There was a thread dedicated to "drinking the water" but I'm afraid I can't find it.

Until our 3rd trip we did drink the water and then all 7 of our party came down with a tummy bug, since then we have stuck to bottled. :)

Not sure about hiring kettles/hairdryers as I always take my own. I have never heard of hiring fans or fridges, if I remember rightly all the hotel rooms have ceiling fans.

Thanks. I have always bought bottled water when I have gone abroad before - even for brushing my teeth, terrified of getting ill you see!

I read somewhere where someone said take an empty bottle for refilling so it made me think it was mineral water at the fountains. I dont think I will risk it though. I guess really then that I should ask for all drinks without ice too?....

Anyone know about the FREE bus to Val D'Europe??

We have stayed at Santa Fe twice and thought it was fine- basic but clean and very comfortable beds.
Towels are DEFINITELY included.

WE always drink the water from the fountains and have never had any problems. We take a small bottle and fill them form there. If you wanted to drink bottled water you can buy larger bottles from Val d'Europe or Shop in the station or at Petrol station and then use it to fill smaller bottles to carry round.

Ive never heard of a free bus to Val d'europe but you can get there easy on the train for only a few Euros (its one stop I think).

Sorry cant help with cost of kettle etc as we always take our own but there is a ceiling fan in the room.

We have been in France several times on 14th July (but never at DLP) and found there is a real party atmosphere- most restaurants etc all over France are open as lots of people tend to eat out

The train to Val d'europe is just one stop and does not cost a lot.
I took the train, and it's cheap just to go there.

I think there is a shuttle bus that serves the Hotel D'Elysee, but it may not run frequently. If I'm wrong (which has been known to happen!) I'm sure someone will correct me.:goodvibes

A lot of people seem to find using the RER less hassle as it runs more frequently, is less crowded and costs very little (around €1).

Thanks everyone.

I am sooo excited, such a big kid! I've written a countdown of the number of weeks until we go on my calendar. Think I am more excited about seeing the kids faces than anything though - priceless.

Can I ask you is there a search facility on this website? I cant see it anywhere (its probably under my nose!) I wanted to find out what people thought was the best way to explore the park - one land a day, or go for certain rides at certain times etc

Also wheres the best shopping? In the individual lands or Disney Village? My 2 LOVE Buzz and Ariel so I guess I would find the best goodies in DiscoveryLand and FantasyLand?????

Thanks everyone.

Hi,

I love the shop next to the Buzz Lightyear ride, haven't been in any of the ones in Fantasyland, but you'll find most of the same merchandise in a lot of the shops in both the Disneyland Park, Studios, and the Village.

Last time we went, we bought everything (and that was quite a lot :rotfl: ) from the big store in the Village. The only thing we bought from the Buzz store was a particular mobile phone charm, and thats only because we couldn't see it in the Village store (its so big lol).

Bearing in mind the whole area is only 15 years old I think the water is probably cleaner than any of the stuff that goes through the Victorian pipeworks we have here in the UK. ;) We have always filled up our water bottles from the fountains and , TBH, it would never occur to me to worry about the water in a EU country.

Eating at DLRP can be as expensive or (nearly) as cheap as you want it to be. If you don't have character meals and avoid Inventions/California Grill/Walts and a few others that it can be quite reasonable.

RER tickets to Val d'Europe are €1. It's just one stop away. Children less than 4 years old travel free on metro, bus and RER. Children less than 10 years old, -50%.
